When LibertySugar told you that an agreement had been reached for a proposed economic stimulus package, you all responded with several questions about when and how much. Before we get in to the details on this, I just want to remind you that the deal has not yet been sealed. The Senate needs to pass the bill and President Bush would then have to give it a final sign-off. So, don't go out spending money that you think may be coming your way, okay?
The general buzz is that checks should be on their way sometime in May, but the IRS is so strained with tax season that the checks may be pushed back for a few months. The peak filing season usually ends in the final days of May, and in order to calculate rebates the agency needs information from the 2007 returns like who is married and who has dependent children.

I'm not banking on this check.
1I'd have to see the check before I make any plans.
2Thanks for this update!
3Definitely not expecting much out of this. *shrug*
4Well, the more I read and hear about this the worse an idea it is! It's pretty obvious that it really WON'T stimulate the economy and that we will be passing on the $1.5 billion burden to future generations to pay off. Not that I woudn't cash my check if I got one mind you...
5It's worth pointing out too that there are income limits to the rebate (if it even gets passed). Single people who make over $75K and couples who make over $150K likely won't get anything.
6good thing i make less than $75k. i sure hope this gets passed. seems like every news article i read about it made it sound like it was a sure thing. i guess not.
7though i'm not banking on it
8i'm hoping for it
my credit card can use it
thanks for the update savvy
you answered all my questions
I think it's bad idea.
