I know it can be tempting to justify a purchase because you're buying it for less than it originally cost. You know that other women are out there strutting their stuff in the same skirt except yours cost less than theirs, and knowing that makes you feel good. Obviously, a major deal can be a major score, but if it's something you hadn't intended to buy then you're not saving any money.

Never. I only buy the items I need. I wait for them to be on sale.
1I only buy things on sale that I actually want...
2I always love a good sale.
3I buy it ONLY if it's somethign I have really wanted and it's on sale. Like my velour trachsuit from Bebe. I wanted one SO bad and finally they went on a 20% sale so I bought it (even though it was still $200!!!) but I never regreted it!
4before i would have just bought something because it was on sale, but now that i know the value of my dollar i will buy something if I really want it and i know that i will actaully use it! i cant tell you how many articles of clothing i have in my closet that i have only worn once, but i bought cuz it was on sale, and i just end up giving them away, so i really think about what im going to buy now and make sure its really worth the dollar im spending
5i wish my size were ever on sale =/ unfortunately they always get picked first.
stupid averageness.
6Not anymore. I evaluate the situation before I make a quick decision and end up with stuff I won't use.
7I don't shop around sales at all. If something I'm looking for happens to be on sale, great. Otherwise I don't care.
8I am a sucker for sales. I do take things back if after the fact I realize I really don't want something as badly as I thought. But yeah, I will totally just get something on sale.
Silly me.
9Yes. I totally buy things just because they're on sale. Somehow I can always justify a use for it. Plus, the sentence "And it's only XX dollars!" runs through my head.
10I'm trying to do this less, since I went to a clearance store "blowout" and it said 35% off, but the store actually rose the price so that when 35% was actually taken off it was the same price I would have gotten if I just used the internet.
11If it's worth getting and I feel like I won't ever see that price again, then yes I will buy it. My mom, however, buys EVERYTHING if it's on sale (okay well not everything but pretty close to it).
12I have done this in the past and regretted it. now I'm more focused on what I actually want and I have amental converstaion with myself when I'm tempted to buy something just because it's an unbelievable deal. I ask myself is it worth it to get this one thing i only sort of want right now if it means i won't be bale to get something I really really want or need later. The answer is usually no
13Truthfully, I really only buy things on sale -- I don't have time to do real world shopping, so I almost exclusively shop online, and I always scour the sale section first. I generally find versions of what I need on sale, so it's an extremely rare event for me to pay full price for something.
14That said, I definitely don't buy something just because it's on sale, but I also don't "shop" with the mentality that I need just this one thing right now, because I buy a lot of my clothes off-season. I truly think maybe there are only 1 or 2 things in my closet I've picked up on sale that I don't wear... but I am just waiting for the right occasion!
My parents taught me well -- I always check out the sales rack & clearance items. We try to get the best bang for our buck.
But sometimes I have to talk myself out of buying something on sale that I don't really
need. I've been pretty good about it lately, though.
15Sometimes. But only if I like the item.
If I like it AND it's on sale, I get excited!
16If it's a really good sale, then I'll shop just because it's awesome. Clearance and after holidays, for example. I get emails announcing sales every day and if I shopped every sale, I'd be broke.
One of the great things about shopping online is that if I don't see anything I want, I can X out of the site. I can NOT leave a store empty-handed.
17I'm such a sucker for sales. It doesn't "save" me anything
18That's me~ impulsive shopper. Sale... no sale... I just buy & then end up with all this stuff that either doesn't fit me or I don't really like. I'm not a returner so someone ends up getting those clothes.... family/friends~
I would be super rich if I wasn't so compulsive *sigh*
19God bless factory outlet stores.
That's pretty much how I dress
myself... I don't shop full-priced retail.
20It just depends on the situation. I only buy things that I absolutely love and will wear, though.
21i know the things i need and look out for when there is a sale to buy or save up my canadian tire money for a discount. i do buy some clothes or things from aveda if they are on sale but why not stock up on certain things when they are cheaper?!
22A lot of times I end up spending more money at a sale but it's just because I usually don't buy anything unless it's on sale.
23guilty...but only if its cute
24If there's a good deal on something interesting, I will most likely buy it. taken I have money at the time.
25It goes with all - foods, clothes, candy, household items...
I've done this a few times and am currently feeling guilty about a couple of belts recently purchased. They need some tunic tops to be belted with!
261. when i'm shopping i always hit the sales section first
272. if something i need is in there i jump at it
3. but i don't buy things just because it's on sale
4. and i make sure to check the regular price versus the sale price...lots of stores lure you in with "sale" but it's not really a bargain
I am guilty of this when it is at a store I love (i.e. V.S. or Express) which is why I avoid the mall at all cost to begin with!
28I generally think sales are a form of trickery. All of a sudden people are buying things that would not have made them stop before, just because it's marked down. I do, however, make exceptions for Neiman Marcus's Last Call, particularly items considered Fine Apparel. These items are an investment, and the price is a bit less painful to bear when marked down.
29completely! just spent an excessive amount of money at nordstroms.....70% off....i can't help it!
30My rule of thumb is: would I still buy this if it was full price?
Items can suddenly SEEM cute once the red slash hits the price tag. It may have DVF on the label, but remember, there is usually a reason why it hasn't been purchased yet.
The one exception to the rule is buying overcoats during the New Years sales... depending on where you live, winter may not have even hit yet and the racks are full of great deals.
31I used to buy things just because they were on sale. However, I'm a reformed shopper. I actually get a little thrill when I realize what I'm about to do & stop myself, instead of getting a thrill from the purchase.
That's not to say I don't shop anymore. I'm just more selective now.
32I am known for "well, it was on cheap....". I don't really shop sales, but reduced racks.
I try to only buy things that I have wanted and either forgotten about/didn't want to spend full price on, or something that is just go great a deal that I can't leave it, perhaps it will make a good gift for someone or maybe I will have a use for it.
I'm also known for picking up these cheap things, trying them on/gushing over how awesome it is and how I absolutely need it, and then deciding it's the most awesome thing EVER, and then right when I am about to buy it, decide that I neither need it nor want it, so I put it back. My friends don't like shopping with me.
Even better, is when I buy something on what I think is a really good sale, I call my mom and tell her what it was worth. "Hey mom! I just bought 160 dollars worth of shoes... for 25 dollars".
33I'm with K80did I always stop and ask myself, is this something I would buy if it WASN'T on sale? If the answer is yes, then I'll buy it.
Lately I've also been buying gifts on sale. With all the fabulous after Christmas sales I've gotten birthday gifts for all my girlfriends this year, and a few for nieces and nephews. I normally would wait til' the last minute and end up spending $25 on something small or do nothing at all. For the same price I was able to get each one something this year. Yay! Now I'm realizing I have to watch what I buy for gifts though and not end up buying a gift for EVERY SINGLE PERSON I know I would never normally buy a gift for!
34I just cleaned out my closet on Sunday, and I donated, mmany items that were bought on sale. No More. I am only buying what I need and if it fits. No more impulse purchases.
35omg yeah i'm a total sucker for stuff on sale!!!
36I never wait for a sale. NEVER. I have ridiculously long legs & arms - and big feet - and my size always is unavailable if I wait. I snap my stuff up right away! And then I wear the crap out of all of it. Nothing like having stuff that FITS. I did find a couple of gorgeous, comfortable tops at JCPenney the other day, $7 each. You bet your butt I bought them both.
