Is there anything in your life for which cost isn't an object? Pet pampering, gifts for your significant other, killer shoes, gourmet groceries — do tell!
skincare and quality shoes. i see them both as investments.
1Why is cost always an object.
2Brand name stuff, mainly groceries. The store brand just doesn't cut it.
3Choos, Louboutins and Blahniks would all reside in my closet
4Chanel, Prada and Yves Saint Laurent handbags
Creme de la Mer for my face
'Geek Out' my home with luxury gadgets
Spoil all my friends with designer handbags
Hair products and groceries (especially pasta).
5I would go crazy with shoes too, just like glam!!
6Jeans. I've tried to buy the cheaper versions, but nothing fits me as well as a pair of Citizens of Humanity.
7Cost is always an object for us. There's the occasional splurge, but I still consider the price.
8Oh, and Glam, you MORE than welcome to spoil me
9The only thing for me for which cost isn't an object is skincare/cosmetics. I have to live with my skin my whole life, so I want to take care of it as best I can. Meanwhile, frankly, if I buy $40 jeans or $200 jeans, I'm still the same size and still have the same flaws, and will still probably spill bleach on them in the lab, so it's not worth the splurge at all in my opinion. Clothes, groceries (I'm fine with store brand for most items), anything like that -- as long as it is well made, I'll go for the cheaper item.
10No problem DesignR! I'm confident I could pick out a lovely MJ or MK bag you'll love!
11anything related to my health and fitness (gym membership, dance classes, vitamins, supplements, nutritious food, etc.). I practically do not look at the price tag, and thankfully, can afford not to.
12I'll drop serious cash on:
131: SHOES.
2: A bottle of good foundation.
3: A comfy bra
4: A pair of jeans that FIT
5: A good dinner date
Keep in mind that these are all periodic expenditures, I certainly can't make them on a regular basis, but:
1. A very, very good meal.
142. Skincare products that work.
3. Jeans or trousers that make me feel like I look GOOD.
4. Coffee.
5. Candles. Cheap ones just are never as good.
Jeans. Specifically, Joe's Jeans (the petite size fits so perfectly that I don't even have to go to a tailor) or Paige jeans. Groceries, too. Well, specific items. I only buy good quality chocolate chips (I bake a lot) and organic milk. I also usually only shop at Whole Foods, Central Market, or the farmers' market.
15Cost is always an object. I wish I could afford to shop for clothes and shoes without worrying about the price, that would be so much fun. I splurge on nice gourmet things sometimes, but balance it by not eating out very often. I save and budget when I buy things like computers and electronics.
If I find some kind of holy-grail-like item - something I've been coveting for a long time and haven't been able to find, and this is the first time I've had the opportunity to buy one, and I don't know if I'll ever be able to find it again (I seriously doubt I can find it again)... Then price would be no object. But that only means I would be okay with paying a little more, not quite ruin all my finances and go into debt over it - I have to draw the line somewhere. I can't afford not to.
16I don't mind spending $$ on good cosmetics and skincare products.
I'll also spend $$ on a nice pair of jeans. If I find a pair I love, I'll buy them, even if they're expensive.
Oh, and handbags...definitely worth spending money on a well-made, great-looking bag.
17Education, uni is going to land me in serious debt, but I don't mind making cut backs if it's for my future
18I don't have the kind of money to go all out. I am a bargain hunter all the way... even spending fifty to sixty bucks on really good jeans or trousers is a serious circumstance that I have to think on for a while.
19hardware, medication, and toilet paper
20- Cleaning Service
- Nice dinners at nice restaurants
we work too much to spend our free time cleaning (although I don't mind it) and when we decide to go out to dinner, let's do it right!
21oh, yes, and TP. for sure, TP. cheap TP is no bargain at all!
22food, clothes
23Damn, I got beat by 19 minutes. I really thought I was the only person who would say toilet paper!
It would be great to be able to say I had Chanel & Prada in my closet. But I don't. What I do have is a great job that I love, a wonderful boyfriend, a small-but-growing savings account, and a new car ('07 Jetta) I love. There is honestly nothing in my life that is "money is no object" EXCEPT toilet paper & gasoline!
But I am 100% self-sufficient (NO parental-support) and that feels better than any designer clothes/bags/shoes EVER will.
24Anything can be found at a discount. I wear some of the best skincare, fragrances, shoes and clothes... and always find them at a discount. I refuse to be ripped off by the giant corporations.
25coffee and books. Im from Seattle and those are just two things you dont skimp on around here.
26Hmmmm that's a toughie...
27I'd say when I buy something for my bf. He spoils me SO much so whenever I can buy something for him, I try and get the best I can!
Healthy Food is a must.
28Healthy food, jeans, a good foundation, and good hair products.
29Holidays. It doesn't have to be a 5* Hotel, but if I don't go away somewhere, even just for a few days, I get restless.
30Stuff like clothes and shoes is less important to me, even though I've noticed that I tend to buy less things but better quality the older I get. And better quality usually means more expensive.
My health (always a priority!!!)
31for the most part - if it's a quality item - i'm willing to spend more money. if i can get the same thing for a lower price then i will but i don't set out to always go on the lower side of cost...
32make up & my boyfriend
33katiejane you and are have the same list! I definitely need to improve my money spending habits but I just can't resist a decadent meal once in a while.
34Health and dental care
35Skin care
My yoga classes (although I economize and get a monthly pass)
Henri Bendel french vanilla candles
Chocolate
Food. Definitely food. I am such a glutton and you only live once so let your palette enjoy every minute of it. Just the other day I had lychee champagne and it was so delicious.
36i'm with skinny marie: groceries and hair care
37with everything else it's an object
Pilates - Jeans - Handbags - Haircut/style - Watch
38Umm I would have to say the following:
1. A really good pair of jeans. I usually one buy a pair a year so I will spend the extra $$$$ on a pair that fit really well and I feel sassy in.
2. My makeup! The older I get I just can't wear the drugstore kind. I wear Mac and have for years now. Luckly I only have to buy things that I run out of so I don't have to drop tons of money when I go in the store.
3. Skincare! It is so important to take care of your skin.
4. House stuff! I always buy good furniture that will last me years. I look at it more as a investment. I won't buy anything cheap that is going to fall apart and I will end up replacing in a few years. I would rather pay more money for something that will last.
Everything else I am pretty cheap about. I always shop at discount stores so I find great deals on everything that I need.
39Coffee. I like the expensive stuff.
40And electronics - well, mainly just my computer.
Holidays and eating out.
41Let's see...
* Good Meals
42* Nice hotels
* Flowers
* My wedding attire (in progress!)
I always go over board with gifts for my s/o-let me tell you $700 GPS. Arghhhh but he loves it and it was well worth the money.
I also spend quite a bit on shoes and handbags, and cosmetics. My skincare I go to my doctor and it's waaaaaaaaaaaay better than anything over the counter and still cheaper.
43I'm with those who say cost is always a consideration. But I won't hesitate to take my daughter to the emergency room and pay the $75 co-pay if I'm worried about some babyhood illness she has. But would I go to the ER for myself and pay a $75 co-pay? Not unless my life depended on it! And pleast don't think I take her to the ER all the time. She's gone twice in two years. :)And I've been known to buy her a few too many dresses simply to get those precious photos. But that's really about it. I try to get bargains on everything else.
44Two things: Jeans and organic, locally-grown produce from the farmer's market
45Couple more things:
Nice, high quality makeup and brushes, and a great haircut/color
46Jeans, shoes and brand name groceries. Guess shoes are the love of my life. they fit me better than any others. and for whatever reason, that generic cheese doesn't taste quite like Kraft..and toilet paper? There's a biiiig difference.
47Hmm... I don't know about Kraft. It doesn't taste good to me. I like the expensive fancy-schmancy cheeses imported from France and Switzerland.
But I digress.
48Cost is always a consideration. No luxuries here! But some things must be paid, like health & dental bills and care & house repairs.
49So many options - I have to say that no matter what we always buy organically. Also I can't help but drop the big bucks on bras (I have to get them custom made), jeans and of course presents for my child and my hubs.
