Great idea for a post. However, not so great for my bank account :\.
Ugh, thanks.
not pretty...
awesome post
thank you!
How depressing! And no, I had NO IDEA what tax bracket I was in!
can you do a post on the difference between married filing jointly and married filing separately? I don't know which one to do or how to choose!
Great post. I was just wondering about this.
Oh crap, my tax bracket is going up for 2008.
Lawchick, good question! I'd love to know which one is better also.
I think "married filing jointly" is usually best for most married couples, unless you really don't want to be responsible for your spouse's taxes or you have a ton of itemized deductions. If you are "married filing separately," you might not be eligible for the same amount of deductions that "married filing jointly" couples can get.
Nothing pisses me off more than a third of my hard-earned money is going to causes (ahem, wanting to bomb the entire mid east into oblivion) that I don't support.
My tax rate is 35%? That seems low. I feel like it's closer to 40%.
My mom cannot work since anything she would make would be taken for taxes since my dad is in the topmost bracket. She's his personal secretary now! It's an awful job.
