I've always had the opinion that my time is too valuable to spend endless hours shopping around for the deal of the century. Sure, I'll wait for certain things to go on sale, but that's about where my patience tapers. There have been a handful of web applications introduced lately that would actually save you money without driving you crazy. In fact, they make it pretty painless.

These sites are great for more expensive electronics or gadgets that maybe you received or generously gifted for the holidays. If that's the case you may still have time to take advantage of any price reductions. Using these sites is simple: You create a free account, enter the URL of any items you've purchased from their supported merchants, and they'll email you if the price drops during the protection period. Check out Price Protectr.

They DO work! It's awesome!
1Usually under 100 I don't shop around but over 100 I tend to...
I have a price dropped thing for firefox that tells me when the price falls for items on ebay. Its pretty cool
2I waste just as much time shopping online as I would at the mall though, sadly.
3Don't forget pricegrabber.com and shopzilla.com. Also, if you google the brand name and coupon(ie: Express coupon), you will more likely than not find a coupon code. I have been finding that with all the coupon codes, sometimes it can be much cheaper to shop online because you can use the discount and oftentimes get free shipping, so it's all good.
4i wish i had known about this! a pair of boots i bought just dropped $50!
5curse those america-only websites.
