Savvy says: Baffling
This Auto Exec File Tote ($40) made me frown when I saw it. I just don't see why something so unfeminine is necessary; there are plenty of chic briefcases out there that would serve the purpose of transporting your work materials. What really confuses me is the double-sided Velcro that holds the dividers in place! Velcro doesn't exactly lend itself to anything professional.

What do you think?

I like it. I have a job that requires I keep a lot of paperwork on hand for volunteers at all times and this would be a lot nicer and more organized to keep in my trunk than the heavy and unwieldy plastic box I have now.
1My boyfriend has one of those and he needs it! He owns his own business and is driving around a lot so it keeps his car tidy and keeps him organized. But this one is kind of expensive..He got his for $15 from Officemax
2That looks really ugly. It kind of reminds me of those grocery organizers that people keep in the trunks of their car: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail --- if that doesn't work, it's item #E183947
3i love it. i have to cary numerous notebooks and files to and from work. this is much easier to get into than my tote bags
4way cuter idea - http://russellandhazel.stores.yahoo.net/auexfito.html
just a little bit more expensive, but it's something i wouldn't be ashamed to carry IN somewhere.
5My car is a wreck with a mess of paper. I like that it has a file holder. It could be rettier though
6Savvy, I think you misunderstand the purpose of the thing... it is for sales persons and the like who work out of their cars. They have to grab things [client file, product books, etc.] at each stop and this will keep then nicely organized. The slots in the middle are not to hold the files in place, they are for smaller items i.e., pens, keychains, other tchotchki that you give to your clients with your company logo on them.
For as useful it is, yes, I will contend that it is ugly as sin. But it's nice that something like this is being made. [not being a person who works out of their car, or even owns a car, because I live in a city of 6 million people and a public transit system, they may already have these items on the market].
P.S. I'm sorry, I clearly don't know how to spell tchotchki
7I love it! It looks like a very handy piece to have in the car with you and it looks sturdy too.
8I need to get my boss one, because her car is a wreck. The downside is when I would have to be in the car with her. Damn her and her Convertible beetle company car. practical right?
9I love this. It's amazing and perfect for someone like me who has a ton of stuff in her car. I'd even bring it into work with me to keep things organized and I'd just put the stuff that I need to take with me in it.
10I like it and in fact I have it. It's very practical and functional. I don't mind how it looks as long as it serves its purpose.
11I think it looks like a great idea.
12I think its brilliant for those who do lots of mobile business. Like my sister is thinking of doing some visiting nursing again and her car ends up a mess with files, folders, binders and pens everywhere. This would keep things neat and organized for her like she keeps her medical supplies in the back of her car.
13May be practical for some. It's neither brilliant NOR baffling.
14I agree with Msdyanelk, it's just practical. No, it's not brilliant by any means, nor is it cute. But it's definitely useful.
15I can see how it would be practical for teachers or execs who have a lot of paperwork, but I think that it could have been made with a bit more style to it. Canvas and velcro just scream cheap and tacky!
16yeah i think this is supposed to be used in a car rather than actually carried around like a tote. i remember seeing something along the lines of this in an issue of real simple.
17Too Bulky!!!!
18i like the practicality but it's not appealing to the eye at all.
19Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too bulky...
20I have to agree with the earlier poster, it's really not for carrying things in, it's more for people who work out of their cars and need file storage or places to put small things. It really helps keep a mobile office in order.
It's not really brilliant or baffling, it's a necessity. Granted, it's not pink or leather or "cool" looking, but it serves a purpose.
21not my bag
22but i love the design
once it comes in pink or yellow - sign me up!
This is such a great idea. Currently, I have to lug my binders, paperwork, and files from one side to the other in order for passengers to have room to sit. With this neat contraption, I would be able to do that in one swipe rather than 5. This is now bookmarked so I can hurry up and get it!
