I bank online because waiting in line just isn't my thing. I need the ability to access my account whenever I want and from whatever computer happens to be in front of me.
Our friends at WaMu know your time is precious and make online banking as easy as store-bought pie. Most applications to open a checking and high-yield savings account online take only seven minutes, which means you can get started on organizing your finances in the same time it takes to shower, and do it all while wearing your comfy robe and fuzzy slippers! If questions come up, customer service is always around to help.
When you bank online, all of your latest balances, statements, and transactions are available for your viewing pleasure. Worried about your privacy? Many banks will send you email alerts to keep you informed about your account activity.
One of the biggest benefits is the option to pay bills online; you can pay all of your bills in one place and even have the ability to set up your account for automatic payments. That leaves more time for yourself, something all of us could use. Tell me: Do you bank online or visit your local branch?
Thank you to WaMu for sponsoring this post.

I ♥ doing my banking online! It is so convient and fast and like Savvy said, you can get all your bills paid at once!
1Plus, you can check into your account online whenever you want and keep track of every penny
it keeps you from overspending- when you see it in front of you in black and white, then you know where your money is going
2Could you make it a little more obvious when you're doing an "advertorial"? The way it's being done is really deceptive and makes me wonder about the quality of the information given on this part of the community. Making it look like news or an honest opinion post is really deceitful and frankly unethical from a journalism point of view. If not for the tag who's to know you're getting paid to promote WaMu?
3I love my online banking.
4stefapie, it blatantly says it is sponsored by wamu. Everything she is saying about the bank is factual, its not like she is keeping it a secret that it is sponsored. So why are you so concerned?
5Even my parents do their banking online. Doing banking completely in person is for the seriously stenchly anti-technology old fogies who have yet to understand that computer viruses are not contagious to humans.
6I don't think I could live without it--it's a way of life ... I rarely write a check & I love being able to access my account 24/7. Brilliant!
7LOVE online banking. I just wish i could figure out a way to deposit checks without having to go to a 'branch' and yes, I do wish that meant that money grew on trees! haha
8We love banking online
9I love doing online banking!
10I remember the days when I'd do my bills and have 20 or more envelopes with checks inside to drop at the Post Office. No way! Online banking is great! I even pay my landlord with online checks.
online, always... though these WaMu-sponsored posts freak me out!
11Yes I use online backing. It actually saved my butt last christmas when someone stole my wallet from my desk at work (we think someone came in the office) and started shopping away. I happened to go check my bank account and see a LARGE withdrawl. If I hadn't had that ability to see that and call the back they would have been able to get away with more.
About the WaMu thing. Are these polls results given back to them, and that is why they sponsor certain articles? I understand that we as a community are a target to tap, but what is with this?
12yes! It's so easy to access my account where ever I am and I also recently "went paperless" and do not receive monthly statements anymore, this saves trees and i encourage others to do this as well ( i am still trying to convince my mom). Also, not having such personal information floating around cuts down on identity theft and makes me feel a little safer, i hope this persuades others to do the same!
13Collettec, Im with you on the paperless. I only get one bill in the mail, and thats because they don't have an option to use not get a bill (so dumb).
14I agree with the above comments -- it seems shady that all these posts are brought to us by WaMu with specific information just on WaMu. Wouldn't the point of a site like this be to bring us information across the board, not just from one specific bank? This would be like Bella only ever writing about NARS products and nothing else.
15I deposit checks in person, but I do the majority of my banking online. I like how I can see what's happening with my money every step of the way.
16I used to have direct deposit at my old job so I did EVERYTHING online but now I have to deposit my checks in person but otherwise, all is done online.
17Hey everyone-
Just want to clear up any confusion...
This is an advertorial and was sponsored by WaMu, just like it says at the top of the post. The rest of the site is all me.
Thanks for stopping by!

18Occasionally...I hardly ever go to the bank.
19We do a lot of our banking online. It's nice to pay bills or check activity online. We still go to the bank though. My commission checks aren't direct deposited and there are times when you need cash that an ATM can't give you.
20I'd bank online in a heartbeat except for one thing. To do that, my bank requires you to sign up using your full name, your social security number, your check card number and your pin for your check card. I buy a whole lot online, but even I am not going to put all that together in one place online.
21My bank only has one branch (it's somewhere in TX; I'm in CA) but it reimburses ATM fees up to $20/month and we scan our checks and deposit them online. Never need to visit a bank branch again.
22I bank online for sure! i deposit checks and extra cash into my bank account at the bank's ATM and the rest is purely online. It's so much easier that way because i have my own business so I know exactly where my money went at any time of the day 24/7.
23I bank online, pay my bills online, shop online...ooops....I mean, the online time I go to the bank is to deposit my expense checks or withdraw money from the ATM.
24*only* time...not online time...sorry
25*only* time...not online time...sorry
26WaMu acquired one of the riskiest, least ethical credit companies in the nation. Providian was a predatory lender if ever there was one. Their business plan involved marketing specifically to people with bad credit and charging exorbitant interest and fees. WaMu has great ads but are they really our friends? This adverticle is subprime.
27I like the idea of SavvySugar, but I find the WaMu ads posing as editorial totally shady and offputting. Especially on a site that's claiming to be "helping" readers improve their money management, this sucks. Ditch the advertorials and let me trust you.
28I actually started banking online last year and I love it.
29No.
30I have to do my banking online, it's so much easier. I only go to the bank to make a deposit and luckily I have a branch near me with great hours so it makes it more convenient for me.
31I guess I'm the only one on the site not bothered by sponsorship. Oh well, they can go back to watching their Fergie video with the Motorola phone, MAC compacts & lip glosses, and so on. It's a fact of our daily lives, we should accept it and move on.
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to do online banking again. Unfortunately, I live in a very small town at the moment, (they got debit cards like, 4 years ago,) and online banking isn't an option. I had it when I was in the city, and lived by it. I can hardly stand not being able to check my balance without going to the bank or calling.
32I adore online banking ... i check my account before I go out to keep me on a budget.... Its a great way to plan
33I'd be lost without online banking! It's so easy to check your balance and see if that check deposited or a bill went through. It's great! I don't see how I did banking before the internet.
34my bank does everything online and via the phone. if i need to use a bank for something they have a sister-bank that i can go to. i normally never go to a bank though. i am able to mail-in my deposits or go to the sister-bank's ATM and do a deposit there.
35I do virtually all of my banking online. My bank is at home in Iowa but I'm at school in Virginia so its sort of impossible to visit a branch. I even get my monthly statements via email which is so much better than in the mail.
36i love online banking
37The only thing I will do is deposit checks at the drive-thru ATM on my way home from work...everything else is online banking. I'm almost obsessed with it...I'll check it every day to see if the rent check went through, what bills need to be paid, etc. etc.
And then I'll
yell at the hubby if he blows our budget and I find out about it.
38through my bank, i can scan in my checks and deposit them online. it is HEAVEN. specially since we don't live in the states right now
39Online banking and going paperless is the way to go!!
40Love online banking. One feature that I think everyone should take advantage of is automatic transfers. It's like paying a bill but you pay yourself. I'm a young professional, thus having lots of bills and lots places to acquire more bills, but I set up an automatic transfer each month from my checking to my savings. It's not much but over the last year I finally have a savings. You can set it up via direct deposit too but this way it helps curb my spending just a little more.
41love online banking
42Online banking (because one of my two banks doesn't have a branch)
43All of our bills are set up to automatically pay, which is fantastic. We also have a separate savings account in an online bank with a high interest rate.
44I have direct deposit and pay every bill online,i havent seen the inside of my bank for years.
45I pay all of my bills online (including my student loans)and my car payment and I love it. I wouldn't have it any other way. I have been depositing checks in the ATM because it takes 5 seconds and I don't need to fill out a deposit slip. It's great!
46Online banking...ahhh!
47The only time I use an actual bank is to deposit cash since my husband is a server.
48I haven't been inside a bank in years literally. Always on-line with the exception of the drive through deposits.
49I work at a bank in Canada and its always funny to me the number of people who come into the branch to pay bills or deposit cheques because they don't trust online banking or the ATM. There is no special box at the bank with all your money in it; it all goes into the same drawer, and all your information is stored ONLINE, and everything the teller does to process the transaction is online. But whatever, everyone has their own way of doing things I suppose.
