Finance expert and author of the best-selling book, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, Ramit Sethi, has loads of savvy tips to make you money-wise and wealthy. His thickest piece of advice? While it's hard to narrow it down to just one of his strategies, the best get-rich tip may just be to do a little self-evaluation and find out how you think of wealth.
We all have our expensive must-haves and hang-ups — I will never surrender my addiction to designer jeans or manicures, for one. I have friends who might be convinced to curb their retail spending in favor of travel, or a great apartment, but when it comes down to it, I know very few people my age that can have it all. Instead of griping about what you can't have — Ramit suggests we prioritize to buy or do the things we see as having real worth to us.
Making concessions, like finding a roommate to cut your rent in half, can make it possible for you to splurge on other things. The key takeaway is that you don't have to wait years to live a wealthy lifestyle, but you must prioritize how to spend — and that means that defining how you see wealth is step one. So tell me, what does being rich mean to you?

It may be cliche, but for me rich is being satisfied with what you have. I remember dating my now-husband in college and he used to always say if I had $xxx in the bank, I'd be fine and happy and not worry. And guess what? We've surpassed that point easily and now it's another $xxx that would make him "rest easy"
For me that solidifies the point that being rich means being satisfied with what you have because if not, each time you reach that happy number, it will just increase to another happy number.
1to be a "wealthy person" to me is not having to think about what you buy...being able to buy whatever you want, whenever you want (or go on trips etc.) without having to check the cost or calculating if you can afford it (and then obviously having money in the bank and now being in debt for it)
but i'd be happy with not having any debt (other than a mortgage and a car) and being happy with my lifestyle and being able to do the things i want to do...of course i know i'll probably always have to consult a budget and check my bank balance before big purchases but i'd like to have at least a bit of freedom and comfort
2Normally it means having lots of money and the sky is the limit.
But for me it means having the unconditional love and respect that's given to me every day of my life from the people I care about the most in this world (husband, kids, family and friends).........
3The ability to buy anything and everything without ever having to glance at a price tag.
4Rich means incredibly wealthy to me. Tons of money in the bank, no worries, spending is never an issue, fast cars, big houses, personal chefs, housekeepers...
I don't need to be rich, but I would like to be comfortable. Not worrying about if you'll have enough to pay the bills each month. Enough to buy a new outfit, go out on dates with your spouse & go on vacations. Have a nice house and a decent car - but no extravangances...
5Rich means never having to worry about money. Not living paycheck to paycheck or thinking about how to budget or save for something. Having enough to meet your needs and your wants without worry.
6Rich = not HAVING to work for a living. That you are able to live perfectly comfortably without a paycheck.
7Rich is when you don't have to work for the money, the money works for you.
8Rich to me means having enough money to be able to buy everything you need (food, utilities, mortgage payment, etc.) without having to think twice or worry about when your next paycheck is coming in. It also means being able to retire when I want to with no debt.
9That picture is hilarious. Rich is not scooping caviar to me. Pretty much agree with everyone else here, not having to worry about the price of things or whether or not you have enough money.
10To me, rich is being able to splurge on occasion without going into debt or having to worry. Not having to look at prices is just a recipe for disaster but I appreciate being able to go away for the weekend on a whim or buying that really nice purse that caught my eye.
11To me, rich means being able to have whatever I want and go wherever I want immediately.
Not saying that this kind of thing has a good effect on anyone's character.
12Becoming wealthy requires sacrifice of some sort. That might mean 15 hour days running a business or it may mean 10 years of higher education. You can't live a britany spears type lifestyle unless you have a billion dollar company like time warner behind you.Get real people wealth creation is hard, not fun and easy. Now get to work.
13Reality check here? Whatever what age - no one can have it all NO matter what age ... and those who are rich in terms of money may have all that: a house, vacations, cars, no financial worries ... BUT they are not rich. Not at all!!! They are more often just sad … and lonely.
I am with vmruby: its being unconditionally loved!
Can’t by that even with billions in your pocket or whatever designer outfit you wear!
