I just did a little scan of my work space and realized I'm pretty well-stocked here at the office. Tooth brush? Check. Moisturizer? Neosporin? Three varieties of breakfast cereal? Check. Check. Check.
Considering we spend a majority of our time in the office, keeping your cube loaded with the things you need (and want) is pretty common practice. You never know when hunger — or dry skin — may strike, so keeping the necessary essentials seems not so out of the ordinary — in fact, it probably just makes you well-prepared. Still, maybe there are some unexpected items stored away in your desk. Tell me, what do you have stored in your office drawers?

In my filing cabinet I have records for all the kids I teach in my class. I also have a bunch of worksheets I have given and soon to be done, tests, quizzes. I also have extra books full of ideas for what to do during my lessons, etc. In my desk drawers I keep my teachers edition books in the bottom drawers, and pencils (lots), pens (lots), post-it notes, paper clips, markers (for the white board), chalk (if I happen to feel compelled to use the black board). I have erasers, staplers, staples, hand lotion, and a lot of other random crap.
In the coat closet, I have an extra jacket if I get cold, a change of shoes if I need one, and of course, a fake rifle (for my history class. I totally stole that idea from one of my history teachers!).
I am also one of the lucky ones who has the same classroom for every period, so I am able to keep all of my important things in convenient places.
1i'm not at all like you, Savvy....i don't have any food or any makeup
i have 6 drawers - i keep files in 2/6, extra cords and stuff for my laptop in 1/6, old notebooks in 1/6, pens, staples, paperclips and other office supplies in 1/6, and then in the last i keep my purse, my paystubs, random personal files, a bottle of wine, and a corkscrew (but my purse has my blistex and bobbypins and a granola bar in it on any given day)
2Oh goodness. Just about everything! Hair clips, paper clips, tea, lip gloss, post-its, pens, snacks, glue, straws, gum, business cards, lotion...you name it, I have it!
3Lol Skigurl good call on the bottle & corkscrew!
My desk currently contains hand cream, a nail file, Skittles, birdseed & peanuts (for the "office manager," my pigeon haha), hair ties, an emergency tampon, vitamins, Tylenol, and lots of boring stuff like files & supplies.
My cubicle is pretty covered in pics of friends, family, my pets, my niece, and Billy Corgan
4I don't have a desk drawer, so I keep everything in my bag in my locker. I keep hand sanitizer, magazines, gum, lip gloss, pens, extra shoes, my jacket, $5 in cash, a box cutter, and my MP3 player. In my lab coat pocket, I usually keep several pens, a waterproof marker for writing on media plates, Sharpies, a highlighter, and rubber bands.
5Makeup, personal care products, tax documents, stationaries, food, tea bags and more
6A book, bobby pins, sometimes snacks, chapstick/lip balm (trying out eos at the moment), some cash./change, my car keys (When I arrive to work, I throw my keys in the drawer so I can easily find it again), my phone, eye drops for contact lens/dry eyes, cold/flu meds, kleenax....and my time sheet! I don't really keep a lot of things because I don't know how long I'll last there, and well, I don't have a key for my drawer, so yeah.
7Hand lotion, hand sanitizer and an extra hair tie because I never like my hair down
8I'm lucky and work from home, so I have access to just about everything during the day. However, I do keep some things right at my desk so I don't forget about them: my daily vitamins, lip balm (I get chapped lips when I'm stressed out), the cord to charge my MP3 player, and a RocketStick for the days when the cable modem goes out!
9Whatever you need, it's probably in my desk!!
10office paperwork and my porfolio..an emergency meal soup, snacks, extra-pens, post-its and higiene kit ..old notes..training booklets
11I have pretty much everything (EVERYTHING) listed above...plus an extra pair of pants! I have to take the bus and subway to work and if the weather turns cold on a day I'm wearing a skirt they are a lifesaver!
12Hello there, Did you have a happy Hallowen?
