It's obvious why Wednesday earned its rep as "hump day" — certainly in theory, anyway. Falling exactly in the middle of our week, and signaling the oncoming weekend, it seems a likely day for something special. But not since Wednesday's ritual early dismissal from high school can I recall anything tangible to beat the midweek slump and celebrate the fact that the weekend is almost within reach.
Sure, there's the mental awareness of hump day's arrival, the relief that the weekend's just around the corner — or perhaps the panic that we have only two workdays left to be productive and complete everything on our to-do lists. But I'm wondering, are there any hump day rituals that make this day stand out from the rest? Does the day's title serve only as a psychological mood booster, or do you have an activity, tip, or trick that makes your Wednesday different from the rest of the week? Tell me, is your hump day all it's cracked up to be — is Wednesday really that different from the rest of the weekly grind?

i don't find wednesday to be particularly exciting...i still feel like there's tons of week to be worked...thursday gets me more excited
1Same here, skigurl. But I do think we should work in the "early dismissal" on Wednesdays into the work world.
2I only get excited for Wednesday because Glee is on!
3Wednesday is my last day of calm for the week. Friday through Sunday are usually filled with moments of craziness.
4OHHHHH we're half way there....ohhhh livin' on a prayer!
5Wednesdays aren't particularly different but for some reason, I really like them. Probably 'cause I feel like it all goes downhill from here. There is a pressure though to accomplish my To-Do List, though.
6I love Wednesdays! "Man vs. Food" is on and I like to watch it with my husband and we figure out if we could ever attempt any of those pig-out challenges.
7I wear pink on Wednesdays because of the movie Mean Girls, and I'm NOT kidding. my girlfriends and I did this in college kind of as a joke to see how long we could keep doing it, and two and a half years since graduation, its one of the few constants in my life. even if its, ahem, undergarments or a piece of jewelry, I'm always wearing something pink on Wednesdays.
