Couples Retreat opens this weekend, and though the plot looks silly, I can't help but be romanticized by the deep blue water and tropical resort featured in the trailer. Piña coladas? Palm trees? Snorkeling? Sign me up!
Forging the usual holiday festivities and meeting family and friends at all-inclusive resorts is a growing trend for some. Understandably, others grimace at the idea of planned menus and activities. What's your take?

I love All-Inclusive vacations. My boyfriend and I go on one once a year. It's a nice, affordable way to get away for a week. We've stayed in some very amazing places..so yes definitely a huge fan
1Drinks are included in the price. My husband and I enjoy cocktails when we travel, and having drinks included saves us a bundle!
2best. spring. break. ever.
3I'm not a huge fan of the all-inclusive package... I feel like you only experience the "tourist" version of the culture.
The one time that I really enjoyed the all-inclusive package was when I visited Rapa Nui--because the island is so small, there really aren't a lot of places around to just walk around and find, so the all-inclusive package was great, and it came with private guides so we could do whatever we wanted.
4Love All-Inclusive package because it makes your vacation so easy. I have been to a few in D.R.,Mexico, and Jamaica and all were great. You just need to do a little research on the resort before you make your pick.
5Love them! Savvy, I vote you do a post about the best most afforable all-inclusive resorts. That would be so helpful!
6Most all inclusive vacations are great, need to do your research to find one that fits your lifestyle but I would do it again, especially with family because everyone can do their own thing.
7I second what sonya said!
8I think you have to be a drinker to get your money's worth, but if you are a drinker, it's the best! I go on an all-inclusive every year and it takes a lot of monetary pressure off (I have always paid the all inclusive fee before the trip)so that you can use the cash you brought for shopping. I always bring plenty of dollar bills for tips though!
9It also depends on the resort though, I have been to some where the food and drinks were sub par, while others I have gone to the food and drinks have been phenomenal! I just went to a resort in Cabo and gained 5 lbs in a week because the food was so wonderful!
I go to Barbados once a year to an all-inclusive resort. Great cocktails and right on the beach! Once you know the bus routes it's easy to go around the island, but I make sure to get my money's worth in rum punch at the resort
10I'm not much of a drinker but I still feel like I get my moneys worth
11ohh, i agree...i would LOVE a list of the best all-inclusive resorts. i've always wanted to go on one of these trips.
