Jennifer Aniston made the switch from Jennifer Anastassakis, Marilyn Monroe dropped Norma Jean Baker, and so many other celebrities changed their names when they hit Hollywood. Some of them do it because someone famous already has the same name, but for others, making the choice to go by another name is part of managing their personal brands and making themselves more marketable. Would you do the same or would you keep the name you were given?

My first name is a good "famous-person" name, but I'd probably pick a different last name to use because people always mispronounce mine. Although maybe if I were famous, people would finally get the pronunciation right, lol.
1I like my first name...last name is just bleh.
2No. I love my full name. That's why I kept it when I got married.
3I love my name! Plus, it's not common but it's easy to pronounce. It makes a lot of sense to me that Jennifer Aniston changed her name, her last name would be quite difficult to say!
4Yes, I would. Not because I do not like my name, but for privacy reasons.
5No, I don't think I would. Now if I was a writer I would use a different name. Most authors do that at the beginning of their career. But it makes no sense to do it as an actor or singer because people will eventually find out. Marilyn Monroe existed back in the days when there was no TMZ or easier ways for your privacy to get out.
6I'm not really sure. I love my first name and it's not terribly common, however my last name is Smith. Which makes me question if I'd like to keep it or not since it's so common/blah. Guess I would have to decide that if it'd ever happened....which is highly unlikely
7when i was about 18 my bff and i got fake id's. we picked the most outrageous names for them, which we planned on using when we were famous (doing god knows what, lol).
i can't remember mine, but hers was Blair Maserati
how fake sounding is that?!
8I agree with #5, as a matter of fact that's what natalie portman did
9No, I love my name! My last name is rather common, but I think my first name is great. I'd never change it!
10Probably would have for my maiden last name, but I love my married last name. I have always loved my first name though
11Heck yeah, I've already picked my future writer's name!
I even use it to book
restaurants (but mainly because people here don't get my name, for whatever reason)
12My last name is long and most people cannot pronounce it correctly so I would drop it and use my middle name as my last name.
13knowing how easy it is to get information these days on where people are staying, i think that it would make the most sense to go by an alias - if for nothing else than the chance for some peace.
14I probably would - mostly because a) I think there's an actor with my name already; b) my first and last name tend to give the first impression that I'm a guy when I'm not, b/c they're traditionally male; and c) my name is kind of blah, it needs some pizzazz if I'm going to be a big star!
