Women aren't paid equally in the workplace just yet, but some positions bode better than others when it comes to making money. Using the US Department of Labor Women's Bureau 2008 analysis, Forbes ranked women's median weekly earnings to come up with the highest-paying jobs for women. The job that turned up as number one surprised the Forbes team; they didn't expect women pharmacists to top the list. See the 10 highest-paying jobs below.
- Computer Scientists and System Analysts: Women's median yearly earnings: $56,264; percentage of men's earnings: 83.7 percent.
- Speech-language Pathologists: Women's median yearly earnings: $58,448; percentage of men's earnings: 100 percent.

so on average, women are still making 88 cents on the man's dollar. We've come a long way baby.
1these estimates seem very low...maybe I got lucky ;p
2im surprised Nursing didnt make that list considering everyone seems to be doing that now-a-days.
3How is it that pharmacists are making more than physicians/surgeons?
4I've always regretted not going to pharmacy school.
5There is obviously something wrong with some of these figures. My husband, as a second year resident, is making over $50,000. There is no way the average salary for an attending, either male or female, is only $64,000.
6Yeah, there is something off about the figures for the physicians.... is that only for residents?
7pharmacists definitely make at least 110-118k per year now, at least where i live
8Yeah, these estimates are definitely median or outdated. Pharmacists make six figures.
9Attending at Tampa General Hospital...I've never seen any female physician making any less than twice the figures they are quoting on here. I suggest Forbes double check their numbers.
