When you're a true mogul, birthday celebrations have to wait. But then, it's on. Oprah Winfrey blew out candles for her 55th birthday on January 29 but postponed the real party until her show was finished taping for the Summer.
In honor of her birthday, Oprah is taking 1,700 of her employees and their families on a 10-day Mediterranean cruise that kicked off Sunday in Barcelona. Reputably, the boss is picking up the tab for everyone attending. Can you guess how much she's paying for each person?

1$5400 times 1700 people? That's NINE MILLION DOLLARS for a birthday party! I know Oprah does a lot of good in the world, but that could have gone toward a hospital, another school in Africa...seriously Oprah?

3oh BKC! lay off!! like you said, oprah does a lot of good in the world, and she wants to treat her employees let her do it!! i love charity donations and work just as much as the next person, but come on people, i do believe in that charity called ME, MYSELF, AND MY FRIENDS/ONES I LOVE!! africa is not our problem!!!!
4I am a little late with my comments on Opra's birthday but, personally I feel that Opra can do whatever she wants, and if she takes her staff on a vacation for her b-day, then she deserves the goodness she gives to others. I applaud her for her kindness. I wish I was in a position to give my family and friends a b-day like that. I would take them to wherever my heart wanted to go and have a ball with then all!
