i clicked the wrong one - i know how much a few people make but not all of them. it's kind of frustrating to not know what someone who's 'on your level' makes to know if you're under paid or
not
I do payroll, too, so I know. It can be really frustrating for me to know what someone does get paid per hour when they're on the same level as me... Mostly because a couple of the people who
get paid more only actually "work" for about an hour or two out of an eight hour day. Part of the reason I have the responsibility of payroll is because of my ability to be professional and
keep my nose out of things, but it is so hard sometimes to keep my mouth shut, lol.
i know because I was supposed to update the budget file but i found the wrong budge file and saw all our salaries... not happy, kind of wished i didn't.
apparently an MBA in anything get you an extra 10k.
I know what people make at my client since I prepared the budget. And I did payroll at my former company so I knew what everyone made, I agree with the other posters that it is tough to know
what someone who doesn't work hard makes in comparison to those to who work hard and are underpaid.
Our local paper publishes all the area government job salaries on its website. So yes, I know exactly how much less I earn than other employees in my office (and all the other gov't offices
in the surrounding counties).

1Yep!! Only cause I do payroll.
2Nope, and I'd prefer to keep it that way. Although, it's hard not to be slightly curious!
3No, not at all.

7I know the salaries of all the other attorneys... we make a certain amount based on our years in the office, and I have a sheet with all the "levels"
8yes, i do the payroll too.
9We're all on a published pay scale. If I know someone's rank I can look up how much they make.
10I know what the others in my position make, but I don't know how much EVERYBODY makes. We don't really discuss stuff like that on the job.

12Yes. Our salaries are public record and I've looked!
13Yes-ish: we all know each other's "band" (ie band 7 is from £15k-£17.5k), but I don't know exactly how much they make within that band.

15I know approximately for some, just based on my own salary and things friends have said.
Also know a few of the top brass' salaries because of office gossip.
