I have the travel bug even worse than before now, Savvy! I've been wanting to take a solo trip for a while now and some of these places are definitely in the running. (Even though the post was for Honeymooners, it still inspired me!)
1lilkimbo - We're on the same page! It doesn't matter if you're not headed for a honeymoon, it's a great time for anyone to travel if you can afford it. Where would you go first??
2That's a good question, Savvy! If I could pick any of these, it would probably be Thailand. But, after reading this I also looked at Alaskan cruises and they are much more affordable than I thought, so it actually might be a realistic goal for me to take one this year!
3I've never been to Alaska but have heard that it's absolutely breathtaking. Please share pics of your trip, wherever you end up going!
4I definitely will! It won't be for a while, but I am a picture fanatic, so I'll definitely take tons. (Also, I'm telling my sister to check out Loire Valley. She's in the process of planning her honeymoon right now. I've never heard of it before, but it looks so romantic. Have you been?)
5I haven't been to Loire, just stumbled upon it when I was researching destinations. Doesn't it look divine?! I love that it's so remote but just two hours from Paris, so you could take a couple day trips or spend a few nights in the city and get the best of both worlds.
6It looks beautiful. Thanks for tracking it down.
7My husband and I went to Saint-Pierre et Miquelon for our honeymoon last year. We got to experience French culture without leaving North America.
8New Zealand is beautiful, aaaaand cheap (you could even stay with me
).
9Croatia is a great and affordable honeymoon spot. My husband and I were married 3 years ago in Dubrovnik, Croatia -- and our guests are still talking about wanting to go back for a return visit!
10If you don't have the money for airfare to far off places, Montreal (Canada) offers up a European feel for half the price. And we accept your American $$$
Fiji is totally at the top of my list with Iceland being second now.
11you should all come to MAlta..its got everything (except mountains
and its Def
affordable
12Anon, I've been wanting to go to Dubrovnik for a really long time now. My understanding is that it's inexpensive once you get there, but I've priced flights and the cost of actually getting there is too high for me right now.
13Aruba, don´t forget Aruba !!!!
14My fiance and I are looking at sandals in Jamiaca too. They look like the most beautiful resorts. To the girl that mentioned getting everything for 1500 a person. Who did you go thru to book all that? A travel agent, or Sandals themselves?
15I can recommend HUNGARY!!It's really affordable for foreign turists, especially now, as the currency is weak. Its capital, Budapest is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and the whole country is fantastic, check out.
From the list, i would choose NYC, it's my dream.
16I loved Aruba! I went there on my honeymoon and the people and culture were amazing! Puerto Rico is also a wonderful place to go and flights and resorts are so inexpensive right now. You also don't need a Passport to go! A real carribean jewel!
17Very nice. I like this post.
