I'll be honest. My husband and I went all out on our honeymoon and spent more than I'd ever imagined on a vacation, but we saved for it and actually ended our trip under budget.
No matter what your vision for romantic your post-wedding getaway, the most important thing is that you don't go into debt for it. The only memories you want from your one-of-a-kind trip are the ones on your camera, not on your credit card statement. So, how much did you spend on your honeymoon?

So how much is "all out"?
1We spend probably somewhere around $2000-2500. There are so many things that can affect the budget of a honeymoon - length of stay, destination, type of hotel, etc. But it's all about setting expectations and knowing what you want to get out of the trip.
2None. We chose not to have one, as we chose not to have a wedding. These were traditions we opted out of.
3We didn't have one either. In a few years we plan to splurge on a really great vacation for the two of us. It will be a lot nicer than what we could afford when we first got married. We'll probably spend around $10,000-$15,000.
4We had a nice, simple honeymoon. We spent around $500-$600 to rent a cabin in northern Wisconsin for a week and we spent all the cash we got at our wedding (something like $200-$300) on the food and little side trips while we were up there. For the most part, we hiked a lot and went canoeing and fishing...really low-key activities.
5My husband and I did a lot of research and we found an online deal for 6 nights in Paris with airfare for $2,000. We probably spent another $1,000 on food, museum admissions and shopping while there, so $3,000 for a honeymoon in Paris. It's your honeymoon! You have the whole rest of your life to be cheap, do some research and find the trip of your dreams.
6we are doing 3 mini honeymoons- the first was to cozumel for 4 days, im guessing we spent ~ $3000, the 2nd is a surprise so I don't know any details at all! The third will be in France (where my husband is from) but we had to go there anyways for a wedding and to visit his family for a few days, so the honeymoon there will be inexpensive as the air travel doesn't count (hehe) so probably $1500 for 3 days probably.
7We took a Hawaiian cruise and then spent 3 additional days at Waikiki Beach. All together we spent about $8,000. It was well worth it and most likely a once in a lifetime experience.
8$1,500 total for 4 weeks in Nashville and Eastern Tennessee. We drove there, stayed in a swanky hotel for four days, and the rest of the time did a cabin and summer home of family friends in the mountains (all to ourselves). It was GORGEOUS, low-key, good bonding time. We have lived in Japan and traveled extensively, so before moving back to Japan we wanted something cozy
I highly suggest using your resources---summer homes of relatives who aren't going
to be there, etc.
9We spend $5,000 on an Alaskan cruise. The price included airfare, the cruise, and various shore excursions. It was totally worth it!
