Every day is a balancing act, and sometimes all it takes is a little something to shift that balance. Things could be progressing swimmingly when a bomb is dropped that torments the remainder of your day. We have no choice but to move past those rough days, and the process starts as soon as you shut your computer down.
I like do a stress-relieving workout and then watch one of my guilty-pleasure shows on my DVR after a particularly challenging workday. How do you unwind?

I fill up the bathtub with Mr. Bubble and light a few tea candles.
kickboxing!
As much as I enjoy exercise, there are days when nothing but a glass of wine will do. If it was a particularly hard day, a glass of heady port (sweet AND strong).
DVR
A run, followed by the indispensible glass of wine.
At least 20 minutes of quiet time to rest/meditate.
Gilmore Girls reruns and a snack
hot tub. if it isn't raining, that is where I will be tonight!
A good book and a glass of wine. Depending on the day, I might opt for something stronger.
tv, preferably bravo reality tv reruns! add a hot shower, and cocoa/tea and im set
Deidre, Gilmore Girls is my de-stresser too!
Take out food and a bath
I make myself a drink and relax with a magazine while I watch some TV. It usually works to make me forget about how crazy the day was.
I will usually eat some fruit and watch tv, and am a massive b*tch to anyone who tries to talk to me for the first half hour I am home.
I love curling up with a book or magazine. I also love having a nice cup of tea
I'll stick a soft-porn CD and enjoy some quit moments with my vibby.
I need quiet time for about half an hour, then I'm off and running again!
A hot shower, cuddling, curling up in bed and watching an old movie.
Working out, or when its really been an awful day: Grilled Cheese sandwiches.
I need help with this too. With the way that things are now, EVERY day is stressful for me.
Exercise doesn't work, it just gets my adrenalan going faster, that's why I do that in the AM.
I'm trying to mix some moderate exercise (walking around the block with my fiance) with relaxing, sitting on the porch with a glass of lemonade, closing my eyes and relaxing.
I'm going to try to do the bath thing.. but I haven't taken a bath since I was about 10! I'm constantly paranoid that if I fill up the entire bathtub with water, it's going to go thru the floor! Ha.
A good trashy novel is my de-stresser when I first get home from work and then have to face reality of dinner and family
A workout and a few beers always lightens my mood.
Watching Reality TV or Family Guy does it for me.
Golden Girls reruns.
Big glass of wine (or 2 or 3 depending on the day) and my DVR
vino! or running....depending on the day. both just kind of turns into a mess!
Listening to my music is my escape, reading a magazine, napping, the ocassional glass of wine. The TV is usually hogged down by my husband so I really don't watch much of that.
Depends on the day. Cooking dinner helps me focus on something simple, I enjoy a good glass of wine too, but I had to post because lots of people mentioned running but not yoga! I do my own mixture of yoga and pilates stretches/poses to relax and recharge. This always helps loosen my back and shoulders where I carry the tension.
