Last night was the three-hour battle royale for the title of The Celebrity Apprentice. Joan Rivers and Annie Duke found themselves facing each other head to head, and Donald Trump described the duo saying, "they're both tough, they're both smart, and they both hate each other." Joan wins the final challenge and the Celebrity Apprentice crown. I know it was music to many ears when Donald said, "Annie, you're fired," but do you think he made the right choice?

i'm SOOO excited with the outcome and to be honest, it was kind of assumed. at least from my part. trump and joan are such good friends that i just knew that he would choose her. the other point in knowing this is because they made it a point to say that the last challenge, money wasn't the winning factor - and we all knew that annie was going to raise a LOT more.
I didn't watch it. So was it fun? Why did she win if she didn't raise more money?
Annie annoys the heck out of me during the season. Not that I'm a big fan of Joan, but at least she's more sincere.
I wish they would put the ENTIRE show up on Hulu already, so I can watch it! As much as Annie rubbed me the wrong way from the beginning, I think she should have won. She played the game better. Yeah, she talked behind people's backs (a LOT), but she certainly wasn't the only one doing this. I wish Donald Trump would have explained exactly why he was choosing Joan over Annie.
I could not have been more excited Joan Rivers showed nothing but class she is a true showman and a wonderful person and mother, Annie should be ashamed of herself acting like some sort of big shot never heard of the woman and I live in Las Vegas wouldn't go to see her play poker if they gave me money truly am happy and I feel the best person WON!!! Wonderful job Joan.
P.S. I wonder how Annie would feel if someone talk about her mother the way she talked about Joan Rivers and Joan stood toe to toe with the poker player I love it.
I love that Joan Rivers won. Absolutely. She seems sincere about letting her feelings known -- straight up. Amazing energy, really hard worker, quick, smart! And she doesn't seem to hold petty grudges, either.
No question annie duke was the real winner. donald trump has no integrity for fair play. as annie said she won every challenge raised the most money, showed restrained under unbelievable attacks from drama queens joan and her big baby daughter. last year pierce used the same reasonings as annie and he won. totally rigged. i would love to see annie sue joan for slander. come to think of it donald showed no class with his attack on rosie. you would think someone in his position would be a little more dignified instead of getting in the gutter. he calls joan a role modle, doesn't say much for his values. i will not watch the next apprentice. shame on you donald you didn't do the right thing.
Donald absolutly made the right choice! Annie Duke was annoying and talked behind everybodies back, she made all the decisions and even when she wasnt project manager she still made everyone do what she wanted to do. She was too pushy and just really annoying! Joan was the best choice...at least she cared and showed feelings.
I am so glad Joan won, Annie was sneaky and arrogant.
well for those who watched it was pretty explained as to why joan won---the final challenge was based on five criteria, joan won three, annie only two. so she hands down won the final challenge, piers also mentioned that because it (the final challenge) wasn't a tie like last year he didnt have to consider the season as a whole....with that said joan was the better person in my opinion,i have nothing nice to say about annie!
The fix was in...!!! Trump knew that he had to pic Joan so he didn't look bad. If the two candidates were unknown and applying for a real position, there's no way the one that acted like Joan would have been hired..!!! While both of them did their share of bad mouthing, I felt that Annie had to defend herself against all the slander that Joan spewed. I am disgusted with Trump's decision. (Whew..glad I vented...)
I loved the fact that Joan won she is a real person with a fantastic work ethic but what messed up Annie is when she was trying to blame Joan because the planner got so mad so decided to quitting both teams, what a joke! You can't blame another person for that person for quitting their job! People make up their own minds, they're called adults.., hello! Her snake like deviant ways turned Trump off and so their ya go!
You basically said it all for me, Happsmjc.
While on the overall show (even if I totally dislike her) I think Annie did a slightly better job than Joan, I have to say that I would never want to work with Annie. Joan's attacks were unprofessional but that's TV for you. She was as frusturated (as I was) that Annie was somehow able to always deflect blame onto others and drove the others like a bulldozer. I think that if Joan was able to lead more and if the other contestants had taken her more seriously we might have seen more wins for her team.
All of you that agree with Joan winning are absolutely crazy. Joan calling Annie worse than Hitler and then appologizing to Hitler is inexcusable. Totally and utterly dispicable. I will boycott anything to do with Joan Rivers for as long as I live. She crossed so many lines it's not even funny. She never would have gotten hired for a real job. Annie Duke was very egotistical, but she played the game better and deserved to win. I can't believe there is anyone with any resonable sense that could like Joan Rivers after she showed her true colors. She is an embarassment to the Jewish people. Her whiny daughter isn't much better, but at least Melissa didn't cross the line and resort to Hitler comments.
The show was so obviously fixed... just look at it! The vast majority of viewers are beyond upset. All the sites I've looked at have had upwards of 80% of the viewers saying Trump made the wrong choice. Joan lied blatantly on TV, to Trump about the designer quitting. She had almost no celebrity presence at her party which means Annie should have won that category, which in turn means Annie would have won more of the criteria and won the Apprentice! Plus Joan sabotaged Annie with the designer so theres another category Annie would have won!! I liked Joan before this show, now I will never watch her again and I despise her. I have watched every season of Apprentice and now will never watch again. I truly believe Trump has lost at least 80% of his viewers and if he tries to have another show it will fail. It's his own fault...
In addition to my last comment... Joan quit!!! Trump has gone on and on about ow he would NEVER hire a quitter. Yet he hired Joan. Trump went back on his own word... and with a woman who has no class or no idea how to work with people. The finale sickened me in a way no TV show ever has.
Charity starts at home, Joan's charity was to feed people in America not another country like Annie's. We have people in the U.S. going hungry everyday, with the economy like it is we need to take care of our own first. So yes Donald made the right choice and this comes straight from an amateur poker player. I really liked Annie until I seen her on the apprentice.
As if only Americans deserve to have food, shelter and security. I feel extremely blessed to be an American because we have a whole wealth of resources available to our neediest and there is rarely a shortage of people willing to lend a hand to help people within their own community. But what about the people that are not only ignored, but openly persecuted by their own governments/communities? People are people are people. You could just have easily been born into their situation. The charity that Joan sponsored is a wonderful one, but Annie's is just as deserving. I'm so glad that all the money that Annie raised went to Refugees International.
Alright, after having watched the show (finally!), I think the REAL loser is that event planning company that completely pulled out after Joan made one little criticism! That was definitely unfair to Annie and hurt her more than it hurt Joan. But what, Joan can't even disagree with the guy about anything!? I thought he overreacted and made himself and his company look like a bunch of unprofessional jerks.
From my past experiences, it is extremely difficult to work under and with someone that is prone to temper tantrums like Joan. You have to walk on eggshells around them all the time. Annie isn't an ideal boss either - she seems like she's a micromanager, but at least she remained professional and coolheaded most of the time.
After thinking it over, I going to echo both of shiningeyes' comments.
Some people In the U.S. are very lucky to have all their wants and needs, but a lot of people in the U.S. have lost their jobs and a lot more are going to be jobless we are in a recession here and a lot of the nonprofit organizations that were helping are now in trouble themselves the donations are not coming in and with so many people losing their jobs we have a lot more people here in need so I guess some people in the U.S. can't see that we have a lot of homeless and hungry people here. I see it everyday I go to work I work in a very poor neighborhood and it is heart breaking, none of the other countries give donations to the U.S. We give to every country under the sun, so let me repeat myself charity starts at home.
