Money isn't everything, but my emergency fund would be a lot more plump if I held one of the best paying jobs in the US. The federal government recently released its annual Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates based on 2008 data, and there's not much of a change among the best and worst paying jobs from the 2007 estimates. How much do you know about jobs and the salaries they command? Take the quiz!

wow, guess I should move to DC
1I was thinking NYC for the last one, not New York state. Now that I know it was referring to the state as a whole, it makes total sense. Obviously the average income for a city is going to be higher than for a state.
2Also, I've heard before that surgeons are at the top of the list, so I got that one correct, but I think this is skewed because it just figures in salary, not stock options and other benefits.
3If $18K is the eighth worst paying job, I wonder if teachers aides make the list. Because I can tell you, the school I worked at...18K was a pipe dream!
4I think I need to go back to school!
