The Michael Scott Paper Company comes to terms with its goose-egg finances on last night's episode of The Office, but Pam is worried about her personal finances, too. She looks at Michael and says, "Want to hear something sad? So, Jim and I are getting married, and the wedding is really expensive, so I tried to get a job on the weekend to earn extra money. I applied to Old Navy, Target, and Wal-Mart, and none of them called me back. Not even for an interview." Have you been looking for part-time work like Pam?

Oh no! I missed it last night! But I'll watch it online later today, I bet.
And yeah, I'm looking for part time right now. Well, I'm looking for full time, but I'll take anything.
1my part-time job is commuting to and from my full-time job (heh), but i am planning on starting an etsy business \in my free time.
2I did this around the holidays. I worked doing inside sales/customer support for an online wine co.
3yea ... and I got rejected by the two stores I shop at the most: J.Crew and Anthropologie.
4I work part-time at Sephora. Sometimes it's draining to work so many hours, but the extra money is nice.
5Not really. I've been helping my husband with his part-time gig of going to auctions and buying boxloads of parts, then reselling them on craigslist and ebay. I help him write the listings and pack up parts to ship them; he monitors all the feedback, takes care of all the customer interaction, and takes all the pictures to upload onto the websites. We sometimes make some pretty decent fun money.
Our other "side job" is my husband's traveling for work...he gets an extra $2K per month for doing it, so that helps out a bit as well.
6I tried to get a weekend job at the record store by my house, mostly so I can ogle cute record nerds and indulge my music-dork tendencies. Even though they're not hiring, I honestly would have worked for free. Ha!
7I've contemplated working a few hours on the weekend just for kicks but I just don't have the time.
8I worked part-time at my apartment complex as a leasing agent for 6 months... when I re-started school, I had to quit though. I was feeling uber stressed all the time.
9i totally am! it's tough out there. i live in a college town, so hopefully something will open up this summer when all the out of towners go home for the break.
10I used to work part-time for the lab I had been fulltime at before I went back to graduate school. It was just one day a week and the ocassional Sat., but I miss the extra money.
11YAY, I got a part time job today! 21 hours a week is a lot better than 0 hours a week!
12It's tough out there. I'd take a part-time job -- no hires yet.
13Umm...I definitely SHOULD be looking for a part-time job. I'm moving this year, and starting school, and I'm going to need some extra money for emergencies, since I depleted my rainy-day fund applying to school. I need income!
I've looked at a few places, but I don't have much experience in those areas...and a lot of places want people with experience in the job already these days. Maybe I'll just sell most of my stuff...
14I've been casually looking for a part-time job, since my full time job can't guarantee me 40 hours a week. It might be a good idea to work as much as I can in between school years, but then again, I know with two jobs finding time off in the summer will be so much harder.
15Not yet however I will be actively looking for a part-time job come June. I am going to have to start saving for college, gas, etc... and what worries me is that I am starting late (in terms of saving.) I will do my best though to figure out a way/create a plan.
Although having no work experience and so many going for the same job tends to make finding a job look bleak.
16Congrats, Chaton!!
Currently looking for a part-time job.
