My ceremony lasted a mere 20 minutes, so I didn't want to pay much for the ceremony music. I hired a string trio of students from the local conservatory for less than a third of the price of professional trios, and they were fabulous.

I don't think it's always the case that students cost less, unless they are high school students. We hired a solo cellist from the university of texas (a phd student) and when I called the school asking about prices they said they cost the same as professional because there's a musicians union that protects them . . .
