April 22 is not only dedicated to spreading love to planet Earth; it also happens to be Administrative Professionals Day. So, Happy Admin Day to those of you who deserve the acknowledgment! The holiday falls on the last Wednesday of the last full week of April, and it was developed to recognize all the support staff that make our offices run smoothly. I hope that you get the notice and appreciation you deserve — hopefully it's more than an e-card!

I'm not an admin, but they definitely acknowledged the administrative professionals in our branch today! We couldn't make it without them!
1We get 4 days worth of gifts and a luncheon served by the higher-ups. (Monday was a holiday for us.) It's a sweet gesture. And, it's always a fun lunch.
2well I'm technically not the admin but I still do the majority of the admin responsibilities. last year we guilt-tripped our boss into treating us for lunch because he forgot. our new boss is out of the country so we'll have to wait to see if our supervisor does something.
3The rest of the admin team and I are being taken out to lunch. My vote was for sushi... we'll see if I can get everyone else to join in.

5Usually the company will buy us lunch, but they haven't said anything this year. Of course, last year they forgot about it and took us out for lunch about a month later. Maybe they are just cutting back on expenses. Personally, I don't care if they acknowledge me or not.

7nope...last year we all got amex gift cards, which was really nice and unexpected...with everything that's been going on, it's not really a big deal...working for a non-profit, i'd rather the $$$ go back to our mission anyway
8Yes! So far I have recieved 3 cards, one balloon, 20 bucks, a cheesecake, and they are making a barbecue lunch for us.
9I also just got a huge basket of gourmet cookies and brownies from Cheryl&co.com. yummy.
10We celebrated National Lab Week this week, so that sort of overshadowed Admin Professionals week for us. We all got recognition from the lab director, including my boss.
11I am a total jerk for not doing anything for my assistant Wednesday. I got the memo two days earlier. Monday, I will take her out to a place of her choosing.
12The first year I was recognized. Then, every year after, nada. But they are VERY generous at Christmas and Birthday time
