5 Ways to Make Next Year's Taxes Easier
Hold On to the Important Information
There are important documents besides the W-2 you'll get from your employer next year and any 1099 statements from your investments. Make sure you hold on to anything pertaining to the following expenses so you don't have to dig up duplicates later: job-related moving costs, property taxes, donations, medical bills, childcare, and mortgage interest payments.

Ooh this is a good one. I'll be away next year, and I'll be too old to be claimed as a dependent, so it'll be my first time doing all of my taxes myself. I always wondered what else I need to keep...
1It seems that more and more banks and other entities are sending important tax forms via email. So I download the pdfs, create a folder on my computer called "Tax Forms 2009" and save them all in there. Worked great last year, especially since I do my taxes online anyway--it's all at my fingertips!
