It's hard to pass judgment on a career you haven't had, but forget education, relevant experience, and interview contacts for a second. Which career do you think is cooler?

Anchor, definitely. At least in my area, the news anchors are always in the community, and they don't get hounded [possibly stalked, but that's rare]. You're still allowed to be a *person* without all the public repercussions.
Being an actress totally takes away ALL your privacy from anything you do. People are always around to try and catch you doing something terrible for their own gain. Not only that, I wouldn't want to work their hours.
1I'd be an actor, for sure. I kind of like the idea of pretending to be other people and getting paid to be someone else. Being a news anchor sounds like it'd be painfully depressing, considering the types of stories that are in the news lately.
2i wanted to be an anchor when i was younger, because it looked so cool to go up and say he days big news and all lol. id like the lavish lifestyle of an actor tho..
3Actor, because the news is soo depressing. The only thing worse than me hearing or watching it would be having to give it to the public. Besides there are quite a few people out there who are only around for making movies and doing relatively good things. They aren't really out in the public as much as the likes of Paris Hilton, etc. And its harder to stalk anyone who doesn't live in California and doesn't really draw much attention to themselves,
4The line between these two professions has become very blurred. Aren't most of our news shows now laced with opinions and watched because the anchor does enough acting to entertain us?
5News anchor hands down. This was actually my career goal when I was in college.
6I'd be a news anchor if I could be Anderson Cooper-esque.
7i would rather be an actor. you get to travel and go to all sorts of events that aren't only industry related...
8Either would be fun and interesting in two completely different ways! I actually want to be a news anchor someday, so if anyone has any advice I'd love to hear it!
9I am an actor - but the stage kind that doesn't induce paparazzi stalking. I much prefer this to news anchor. I have a friend who is an anchor and she loves it, but she can't really add her own "spin" to things, nor can she "go out of her comfort zone" with different roles. However, if you get to a certain level as an anchor, you can branch out and have more of a personality.
10Actor.
