We're about halfway through March, which means most of us are balancing our monthly budgets and taking stock of what we might splurge or spend on for the remainder of the month. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, March is a great time to purchase TVs because you can generally save up to 15 percent on the cost of a TV from last year's line. To see what else experts from Consumer Reports suggest picking up this month, read more.
The folks from Consumer Reports say March is also a great time to purchase:
- Computers
- Humidifiers
- TVs
- Winter coats
- Winter sports gear
I've noticed Winter coats on the sale racks of my favorite stores for the past few weeks. Have you seen any of these items with bright red tags?

I'm planning on buying a new winter coat either this week or next week. I've seen a lot of places marking them down by up to 75%, which means you can probably pick one up for a steal.
1I try to buy my winter coat in March. I get a nicer coat which I wouldn't have been able to get otherwise.
2Ooh yeah, I got a new coat here in Florida a few weeks ago marked down *80%* at Kohls. (Obviously, not a huge demand for coats here!) I love it!
3Definitely winter coats. I got mine for $90 marked down from $280 last year.
4I just picked up a netbook at a sweet discount...
5My boss bought an adorable red coat from Macy*s for $27 when it was originally priced at $150. I need to visit Macy*s some time soon before all the winter stuff is cleared out.
6Thanks!!
