I feel lucky to have health insurance because I know that so many Americans are living without it. That being said, it really hurts when necessary expenses increase while our salaries stay the same. Updated healthcare packages typically come with the new year, and as the costs of those packages increases, it's only natural that employers pass them on to their employees. Are you contributing more for health insurance than you have in the past?

I work for a great company that absorbed the increases in our healthcare for 2009.
From the company I was with to where I am now, yesssssss. It is horrible. I pay $70 a week for BCBS. Rip off!!
I have health insurance from the City of SF as an employee and the coversage is top-notch, it even covers plastic surgery if I get my primary to sign off on it first . But my contrinution to my health insurance went up from $0 to $24.49 per paycheck and prescription medication costs went up from $15 for name brand scripts to $25 and $5 for generics to $10. Also, Er treatment went from $35 to $50 or $100 depending on whether you get pre- approval from your primary before going to the ER for emergency treatment. And strangely although "women's healthcare" ie Paps and breast exams are suppose to be free under the insurance I have always been charged for them. When I asked the insurance company gave some lame excuse about "well you have to pay for the equipment we just pay for the doctor." Weird.
that's a very good question - and i guess i should find out if the amount that they take from my paycheck is more or less than before. i know that it WILL go up this year since i'll be getting married and therefore will be adding my 'husband' to my plan since he doesn't have insurance, but for myself right now - i don't know
My health insurance premium was raised by $100 a month... ugh! Luckily, my employer will cover half that increase.
Hmmm I need to check on my next paycheck. I hope not. Work pays for mine 100% but I pay for my husband's 100%, and it's like $400/mo for BCBS!!
I'm lucky in that my work covers everything (except co-pay and normal stuff like that). But otherwise, nothing is removed from my paycheck.
I'm covered by my hubby so I don't have to worry about it. Whew!
Yeah, I'm under my husband's insurance and I think our monthly premium is still the same. It's still pretty high though.
I work for an awesome company that pays for my insurance. Thank goodness.
Yes, by a small amount. However, I still think we have excellent coverage.
I'm a benefits administrator, and our company's health insurance carrier increased our rates by 20%. We had to choose between increasing employee contributions or lay off employees. We chose to pass the increase on to the employees. People didn't seem to mind so much since everyone got to keep their job.
Yes! a whopping $70.00 extra a month now...I pay nearly $250.00 a month for my own healthcare insurance (Anthem/BC) due to being laid off from my job, plus Anthem is raising the prescription costs on my plan to boot.
