10 Tips For Saving More at the Grocery Store
Check Your Receipt For Errors
Keep
your eye on the scanner for errors as your items are priced one by one. It's much easier than trying to prove that you've been charged for two of an item when you only walked out with one.

This is a BIG one! I can't tell you how many times I've been overcharged when caught up in small talk with a cashier, and haven't noticed until I've gotten home. By that time, I never want to drive back for a dollar or two, so I just have to eat it. Watch those registers!
1As an employee at a grocery store I would like to say that I absolutely HATE it when people do this. It makes me so nervous I make more mistakes than when you just leave me alone. It makes me drop stuff, it makes me overcharge you out of pure nervousness. We really are not trying to rip you off. We don't care what you bought, how many you bought, we just don't care. Mistakes do happen and when they do, please try to be nice about it, we aren't out to get you. Yes, you can watch the scanner, but don't be overbearing, stand back, take a deep breath, and realize checkers are just humans too.
