When my fiancé received his W-2 in Friday's mail, it became real that another tax season is already upon us. Have taxes been on your mind in 2009?

I like to file the same day i get my W2. I got my documents last Friday and i tried to file but i have to get a corrected W2 from my job. aarggghh they are slowing me down!
I am still waiting for my T4's, but I like to get it out of my hair early and file ASAP. I think this year I should also be getting SOME money back, and that's always nice
I am still waiting for my paperwork but once I get it I am going to file ASAP!
Yes, I want my refund ASAP!
Once I get my paper work I will surely be getting them done...
Yes, as soon as I get all the paperwork I need, I'm getting them done! I want my refund ASAP.
This year my hubby and I got married and bought a house so I'm dreading doing our taxes. I'm sure I'll be confused beyond belief.
As soon as we have all of our documents, we'll be filing. We haven't gotten a single one yet though, so it's going to be awhile.
Yep, already organizing the paperwork we already have, and waiting for the rest to come in.
I want my W-2s! My job has an accountant, is it tacky to ask him when the hell he thinks he might get around to doing them?
Haven't gotten my W-2 yet but once I do I can't file right away because there are a ton of other paperwork I have to wait to get. And this year won't be pretty I have to pay taxes on my son's inherited retirement savings that he received when his dad passed away.
I haven't gotten my W-2 yet, but I hope to get it in the mail soon! However, I recently found out that the state of CA might be issuing IOU's instead of giving us a tax refund. I'm so mad about that!!
i haven't gotten anything together yet- but i'm anticipating! this years will be a bit trickier- i have more stuff to list and i want to try for education credits. i might need to get some help this year!
We haven't gotten our W-2's yet but as soon as we do i will file. I am nervous about doing them this year since we bought a house and i'm not sure what to do now when filing our taxes.
Yep, hubbie and I were just talking about this last night.
this is going to be a much more confusing year for us, as we bought our first house, but I always keep a folder for tax stuff and keep an excel file to keep track of everything
I keep thinking about it, then realizing I haven't gotten my W-2s yet. Very soon after I do, I'll file.
Yes! I am so excited about my refund. Just waiting on my W-2.
chaton, maybe you could make a little fib and say you need to make an appointment to get your taxes done, so you need to know when you're getting it so you can make the appointment?
yes!! i file as soon as i can to get my refund as soon as i can!
yes as soon as i get my documents from the government and from my mortgage company, i'll be filing. i really need that money and usually i set it aside for stuff, but now i really just need it to help me pay things down.
I pay estimated taxes, so I think about taxes a few times a year.... but I still have Jan 15 estimated taxes to pay, so I haven't started thinking about any more taxes than that yet.
I'm already thinking about it, but I haven't gotten my W-2 yet, so I haven't done anything. We bought land this year, so that'll be sort of a pain because we're on a land-contract with my father-in-law. We have all our documents that we need, so I'm hoping it'll be smooth.
My dad is already getting geared up...back when I lived at home and had a part-time job, every January he'd say, "Alright, Brit, it's TAX TIME! Get your W-2s and your forms and let's get going!" And we'd do our taxes together so we could get our refunds ASAP. For the longest time, I thought you HAD to file as soon as you got your W-2...I never understood that you had until April 21 to file. I think I figured that out when I was in college and one of my friends waited that long, lol.
Does anybody know if the stimiulus checks we received last year are going to be deducted from this year's tax returns? As in any refunded amount we may be getting?

sierra16, my understanding is that yes, the stimulus checks will be deducted from your refund. I guess the check was basically just an advance on it.
ASAP!
I got my W-2 the other day and just waiting for some other forms.
I love doing my taxes! I know it's weird...LOL
I received on W-2 and will file shortly. I really need my refund to pay things down and possibly take a small vacation.
