Check Your Credit Report
You get three complimentary credit reports every year, one from each credit bureau. I usually recommend checking your report at the end of each quarter, so if a busy end of the year caused you to procrastinate, take the time to run your report this month. Make sure all of the information is accurate and be sure to report any mistakes immediately.

Could you make a full post about the best way to do this? Because I know of the big websites that supposedly offer your credit reports, but they all suck you in by having to sign up for their credit monitoring services. Is there one best way to go about this?

Don't give into those sites like www.freecreditreports.com like the TV ads, those are the scam ones. Just got to the "big 3's" direct sites. I do it every year and there is no fee. You are allowed one free report from each in a calendar year. Hope that helps.
