December can be an expensive month that leads to cringe-worthy credit card bills in January, but we're all different in the way we handle the gift buying bonanza at the end of the year. Some people opt to use cash-only to control their spending, some rely on debit cards to make keeping track easy, while others are all about using credit cards to earn points. How did you primarily pay for gifts this season?

Debit. I don't use credit cards for anything but major purchases for myself that I can pay off fast.
1i paid for everything that i got (which wasn't a lot) with my debit card. i don't use credit cards anymore and if i don't have the $$ on hand, then i don't spend it anymore.
20% interest credit card, as I get good bonuses from it. Paid it off in full on boxing day!
3Last year I did cc's...that sucks, so I vowed to change this year. It feels good to know I'm not in Christmas debt this year. And I still have my Christmas bonus to boot.
4I used debit card and cashed in bonus reward points to get some gifts
5I was quite frugal this year... I re-gifted a few pricey items that just weren't me but thought the other person might like, and used gift cards from last christmas to buy presents for others this christmas! When it came to crunch time, though I did use my debit card for a few things, but came in under $200 for 14 gifts, not too shabby.
6Everything went on my credit card so I could split the cost of the gifts into two pay cycles - to lessen the blow - and I love the 1% cash back which will equal a nice little check in the mail soon, to cover the cost of at least a gift or two. It worked out well for me this year, especially with all of those amazing sales!
7I set aside a certain amount to spend on gifts... then I pay for everything in cash. Once the money is gone, no more gift buying!
8I used my debit card for most of my gifts, but my husband used the credit card to get the rest of the gifts because we get a cashback rebate every month if we use it.
9Debit and cash. I don't have credit cards.
10debit card.
i probably would have gone with my credit card, which offers a cash-back reward of up to 20% for certain retailers around the holidays, but it's currently maxed out from paying my tuition for next semester (because this way i get some money back, AND i don't have to deal with the school's crappy installment schedule).
11I didn't buy gifts, I gave the gift of love
12Credit cards so I can earn frequent flyer miles!
13Cash and debit. Debit in particular was very useful and saved me from the long ATM queues. I've stopped using my credit card
14I didn't buy gifts - I don't really celebrate Christmas or anything else for the holidays.
15we use credit cards for everything now. Great rewards on it, and it's safer. We've also already paid off Christmas.
16Credit cards online - but pay them off every month
