The buttoned-up world of banking's drama-filled year is impossible to ignore, so we're left with the surviving bunch to choose from as the Best of 2008.
We've never seen a year like this one in the banking industry as a whole, and between the bailouts and buyouts the number of big commercial banks has been whittled down. You don't see Washington Mutual on the list because it's now part of Chase. And while Wachovia almost made it through the end of the year, it was purchased by Wells Fargo. Considering everything from fees to convenience, which do you think is better than the rest?

3I've been with Chase for a long time, and they're thriving even with this financial crisis mess. I also like their online system, and the fact that they have ATMs and branches EVERYWHERE!!
4i had to say BoA since i feel like it's the most stable right now (knock on wood).
5BOA only because i bank with them and im happy with them// and now they have a spend 100 on transit and get 10 back in the NYC area, so thats awesome

10We have an account with Chase and we have our credit card through them. B of A isn't really big in my area of the country, so it'd be pretty inconvenient to have any accounts there. I also like Associated, but they aren't on the list.
11I've been with B of A for 10 years and wouldn't leave them for anyone else.

13I have an account with BOA but I really don't like them. I like the small private bank I have an account with so much better and am considering switching everything over to them since they are stable as well and have really personalized service.

17Chase! I've been a customer of Standard Federal/Lasalle Bank/Bank of America (whew! lots of buyouts!!) as well as National City...and no bank is as awesome as Chase. Love their online banking!
