The recessive economy has made unemployment a new experience for many workers in 2008, and pounding the pavement in search of a new job means interviews are inevitable. Job interviews are the ultimate at putting job hunters on-the-spot, so props to you interviewees for holding your own in front of hiring managers and potential bosses. Whether you rocked them or not, how many job interviews did you go on during 2008?

Milly
Katia Lombardo
Marc Jacobs
None.
I am still working at the same place for the past 2 years.
1I had over 20 especially in the month of Jan and Feb. I was interviewing like crazy.
2I had 2 interviews at the same place and got the job!
31 interview after applying for 2 months and I got the job!
4Spread throughout the year, quite a few. I was trying to leave my first job because I hated it. I'd apply to loads of places and go to interviews. Finally, I got a job at a bank and that quickly fell apart. So I had to start all over again. In August I landed my current job. Oy vey!
5I only did so many because I was looking for a law firm summer job (I am in my second year of law school). But it was horrible to do so many.
6Been at the same place for over three years and planning on staying here for quite a while longer.
7Blah! More than 5 definitely! But, after an intense one-month job search, I found a good one!
82 - i have a job that i really like, but it never hurts to see what your options are right?
9none. sadly.
10None, which means I have a steady job... PHEW!
1110-15 if not more. moved countries and it was VERY hard to convince them I wasnt a backpacker
12oh more than 20 ... switched jobs middle of year ... n got a job that I might plan on stayin for a while ....
13I was miserable in my last job, right on the cusp of the economy tanking... I interviewed my butt off and the positions kept changing direction, not filling, finding someone a little better fit (or you know....), etc etc until finally I got my new job and hope it holds up!!! Lovin' it.
14i went on a few interviews to get my job i have now(maybe like 3 before). but now i'm hating this job ...5 months later and have been applying for other jobs... havent heard back from anyone yet. i've been looking at jobs on craigslist but no one gets back to me. so i sit here at the front desk miserable at my current job.
15I finally got a new job at the end of September. I had been casually looking for a new job since April but I really stepped up my job hunt in mid-July after some drastic changes at my previous job. At one point I was sending out anywhere from 30-60 resumes a day and I calculated for every 20-25 I was sending out, I was getting one call back. All the e-mailing/faxing/follow-up calls where a pain in the ass but it was worth it when I finally ended up where I am now with the job I was supposed to have, haha.
16I had two on the same day and aced them both and now I love the job I chose - lucky me!
17Been with my firm for 2 years and we are pretty much recession proof... (I'm a Residential Relocation Realtor with specialization in Leasing in Houston so we almost coast through a recession).
18I was unemployed for the first part of 2008 and I had probably 10-15 serious interviews, but the types of jobs in my area for people in my field are VERY hard to come by. So a lot of the jobs I interviewed for were looking for people that had more industrial experience. But once I got my current job, I was definitely psyched.
19i had about 10 interviews in the past month and a half. a lot of them were with some of the same firms, but it was stressful nonetheless. i start my new job tomorrow! woo hoo!
20I got lucky this year and was able to keep my job, but I may have to start looking for a new one after the first of the year because my company is looking to cut costs and I might not have a job for very much longer. I hate job interviews! I never know what to say and I get very nervous when all attention is on me.
21I went on about 4 interviews, and got the last one (just under the hiring freeze!)
22i had between 5 and ten, but it's because i moved twice this year.
(ok, maybe i wasn't paying attention to the economy...)
i'm currently working a temp job that lasts through march, and i'm hoping that when it ends, i'll be able to find something else.
23I've had 5 and still no job lined up for after graduation. Just gotta keep working at it
24I have had about 15 and I am still looking since graduation in May. I just keep my head up and keep praying!
25I applied to a sh*tload of jobs, got 1 interview and I got the job (my current job) - I consider myself lucky!
Edinburgh *sucks* when it comes to job hunting. It's such a nightmare to even get interviews for jobs that pay nothing.
26I think just three...i got a job at the beginning of the year, then changed jobs in June and recently got a second job. So yeah, just those three.
27I have had four interviews, two part-time jobs and hopefully one full-time job offer coming this Monday after my fifth job interview this year.
28None, thank god!
29I did conduct what seemed like a million interviews when hiring for my assistant position
Yep...I had one interview for a promo in my same office and I got it
.
30One, but I kept the job I already had, so it was kind of a waste of time.
31I had two and started my job in August (was my second job interview). Glad but nervous because I dont know with this economy if we will be funded for next year. At least I am safe until August.
32I'm graduating in a month and started looking for jobs 2 weeks ago. I got one offer which is great for my career, but I'm still waiting to hear from rest of the places I applied.
33I interviewed for my current position. And then I started interviewing for a part-time positions else where which was such a waste of time. My hubby on the other hand had maybe about 5 and he is still looking.
34Been at my current position since November of last year, so none.
35One. I got the first job for which I interviewed
36I had 2 interviews in the past 2 months, and 1 telephone interview, to my surprise, I did not get the chance to have a face-to-face interview this time!! I guessed the HR did not satisfied with my answers. Even though I am experienced in that industry, I still feel so hard to get a job...
37Both my boyfriend and I lost our jobs this year...and now our roommate lost her job, too. Both my boyfriend and I now have jobs (phew), but we're still holding out for our roommate to get a new job.
38two...got the second one, thankfully.
