While being a supermodel is hands-down out of the question for most of us, Heidi Klum's business sense is something that can inspire and motivate any working girl. She's smiling on the cover of InStyle's December issue and inside the magazine she spells out her five rules for success. The rule below is my favorite.
- Be open to learning new things: "It's not good to think you know it all—I don't think that's cool or smart. I think there's always more things that people teach you. Be confident and open to incorporating certain suggestions!"
Her rule applies all year-round, but it's especially important advice given many companies are now in performance review mode. Notice valuable feedback when it's given to you, and you'll improve overall.

well i think that's one of the best ways to build good relationships with people. when ever you're in a new environment, remember that the host, or the employer or whomever has a role - to teach you something in one way or another, so don't go in there like you're the 'cat's meow'. be modest and listen to what's going on around you and take it all in. you'll find more success in life that way.
1i absolutely agree. this is a huge pet peeve of mine. i have seen it a lot with new coworkers and it's extremely arrogant. honestly, i would hate to feel i have nothing of value to learn from any given situation.. that is a beautiful part of being alive.
2this is off-topic but that's the cover photo they chose for her? I mean, I'm all for big smiles and nice pearly whites but that's a bit creepy.
however, i would also have to agree. Heidi didn't get where she is now through arrogance.
3I just believe there is always something you can learn and take from every experience you have in life whether it's at work or outside of work. No one is a no it all, it may work some of the time but never all of the time.
4Great quote.
5unicorn, I agree, this is not the best picture of Heidi.
6But I think that's a brilliant tip she gave, and I can believe that she follows it herself as she appears so unassuming and down-to-earth for someone of her stature.
