I was one of thousands who went to see Quantum of Solace on Friday night and sat in a packed theater with everyone else who had paid $10.75 to get their 007 fix. Yes, seeing Daniel Craig on the big screen was worth every penny, but I couldn't help but think back to a time when movie tickets weren't so expensive. How much do tickets cost for movies in your city?

16-17 dollars in soho, london. It works out around that much. It's about 8-9 pounds in London.
1I seem to remember everybody was moaning in uni how expensive it was.
2£6.50, so about $13.00
3$10
4let's see the Loews at 84th st. in NYC is about 11 Bucks...Go to the AMC on 42nd st, it's about 13 bucks now.
5$10 in the Chicago suburbs now, I remember it being $12 in Chicago last year.
6It's $8 at our theater. But we usually don't go to that one unless we really must see the movie right away. Otherwise if we wait a month we can go to a charity run movie theater and pay $3.
7Ours is $8 for a regular show and $6.50 for a matinee. So whenever we REALLY want to see something in the theater, we go to a matinee and beat the crowd and save a few bucks.
8I go to two different theatres, the one in Queens runs matinée until 5 and it's $5 dollars, after 5 you pay $7.50. AMC Empire 25 is $6 before 12pm and afterwards it's now $12.50. Across the street at E-walk it might now be $12.
9it is 9.25 for night shows and how about it is 7.50 for matinee which is ridiculous! It used to be like 4 bucks for a matinee. I took my Godchildren not too long ago to the matinee and it was 25 bucks for a toddler, a 5 yr old and me....ridiculous!
10wow, its 6.50 for regular, and 5 for matinee. its cheapo in nowhere land i guess. im about 45 minutes north of paducah ky.
11Roughly 10 dollars at our theater here in Atlanta...
12$8 with my student discount... like $10 without in Indianapolis.
13At the battery park cinema in NYC on fandango--12.50 plus a $1.50 service charge. Outrageous! Enough to make you think twice before you buy tickets!
14In Dallas matinee is $4.25, after 5pm it's $9.25, with the student discount it's about $6.50.
15It's $12.50 here. I didn't realize it was equally expensive in some parts of the USA! When I lived in UT it was like $6 and I always thought america was so much cheaper.. but seeing you guys are paying the same price as here, that's crazy!
16I go to the 2-dollah theater. =)
17$7.50 for an after-6 show in the OKC area.
18I go to school in Boston where its around 10-12 dollars, but I'm originally from Maine where matinee is 4.50 and night shows are 7. If I don't mind waiting a month I can go to the second-run theater for $1 at home.
19I pay $9.50 in Chicago.
20at some theaters it can go up to like 12 bucks. at my closest one it's like 11 but i typically go for the matinee which is 8
2110.50 in the bay area CA
22Back in Texas they were about $5-7, but here in Massachusetts they run for higher - probably about $9-11.
23$9.25-ish in the Detroit suburbs. I usually go to the matinee shows, though- or use my old student ID for a discount
24$12.25
25RockandRepublic, what theater do you go to in Queens?
26The two movie theaters near my apartment in Brooklyn both offer discount movies for the first showings of the day - one for $6.50 and the other for $8.50. The rest of the day, they both charge $11.50, I think. Needless to say, I see a lot of movies before noon.
27$7, $5 for movies before 6 pm.
28$12.50 at the AMC I think. The little theater down the street is $8 though.
29$8.50 and most theaters don't even have student discounts anymore!
30I always try to hit the matinee (they've cut them back to ONE showing at like 10 am!), where it's about $5.00 or $6.00.
There is one independent film theater downtown, on Monday nights (they call it "Cheap Date Night"), you get a big popcorn, a drink, a ticket, and validated parking for $7.00 with your student ID. Which is *great*, IMO.
31There is this little run down privately owned theater on Long Island that has $4 movies all day Monday and $3.50 all day Tuesday. So, I tried to go there as often as possible, but the movies are somewhat limited. Otherwise, most theaters are around $11 for prime time.
32~$10 for evening movies, ~$8 for matinees.
33miriverite, how long has it been since you were in Texas? Nowadays, they run $8-$9, depending on where you are.
We have some places called 'movie taverns' or 'drafthouses' that usually charge half as much for tickets, but twice or three times as much for concessions.
(That's in Fort Worth and Austin, Texas)

j/k I go to Center Cinema http://www.movietickets.com/house_detail.asp?house_id=98
35my school offers discounted tickets for $6 a piece.
36I think it's $8 regularly, $6.50 with my student discount up here... I'm going down to Phoenix to see a movie with my little sister next weekend, and it's $9 there, no discounts offered! Ugh. D:
37In the SF Bay Area, its about $10.50 for an adult ticket, but $9.50 for a student ticket
38$10. we're seeing more videos these days.
39full price is 9.50euro ... so about 12.50. With an under-26 card I get in for 8.25.
4010-12$ normally but 5$ on Cheep Tuesdays
41$10.75 in San Francisco
42Depending on when you go..tuesdays have a flat £4 (almost $6) rate student discount is just over the eqivelant of $6 but normal, non student people pay around just over (£6.75) $10
43in the theater that i regularly go to it's $10...but the theater that's my ultimate favorite by my house in Boca Raton - the tickets there are $20. there are only some movies that are worth it there, but in the case that it IS one, then you can understand the investment.
44went to AMC Kips Bay last night to see Quantum of Solace and buying the tix online beforehand costs 12.50 plus an extra 1.50 service charge. NYC is $$$. Thankfully not as much as UK prices tho.. yowza
45$10.50
46Around here, it's $8-$9, but this weekend I went to one where a ticket is $12, but you get free soda and popcorn and the seats are really comfy.
47$9.50, $7.50 for a matinee
I remember when it cost $5 and I thought that was expensive.
48$8.50 matinee and $10.50 regular admission in Brooklyn.
49When I lived in Winston-Salem, NC it was $7.
50Now that I'm back in New Jersey, it's $10.50, or $11 on a Friday/Saturday night.
Good thing I don't go out to see movies often
