Spending more wisely is the mantra of the moment, and while most everyone is doing it there are differences in the extent that men and women have been making cutbacks. Consumer Reports conducted a poll and published the results in its December issue, showing that over the last year women have been modifying their habits more drastically than men. A larger percentage of women took steps to be more economical than men in every category.

If it's not cosmetic, I would never put off a doctor's visit or a needed medical procedure.
1My boyfriend is waaay better than I am with money in general, but I have noticed that in leaner times it seems harder for him to 'deprive' himself of non-necessities, or put off things he wants to do. I just thought it was because he's an only child, hmmm....
2My boyfriend still wants to eat out everyday, going to a ski trip for the holidays and spend a load of money in christmas presents. No way all of that its going to happen. I dont think its fair that he goes out for breakfast (fast food, not so cheap here in mexico) when I just bought groceries and theres good food in our house.
3USA economy is really affecting us. We are students with scholarships and we live in tijuana so we have to pay everything in dollars.
I do fall into postponing home improvements.
4well i think that as much as we all love to shop, we're also sometimes more realistic about things, and we look towards the future and being able to afford things and guys aren't always like that. my fiance spends when he wants and doesn't care too much about whether he'll have money to pay the bills - and me - i'd rather not buy anything just so i know that i'll be able to pay the bills.
5My boyfriend doesn't cut back at all. We have groceries but he wanted me to bring in Wendy's last night which I didn't do.
6I spend way more than any guy in my family or that I've dated ... except my brother. He's an expensive teenager.
7Maybe because either women are better savers, or they simply earn less than men at work?
