i've never used one of these services, but i do get monthly reports about my credit to see what's going on. i think that it's really important to know what inquiries are out there and what' on your record - so that's kind of how i keep tabs on things.

I did because some cracked out meth-head broke into my house and stole all of my cc's, checks, account info and my ssn. For the next year I was getting calls from police stations across town telling me they caught some criminal who had some of my stolen property on them. Needless to say, I was paranoid!

I do enjoy the quick access I had to my credit report and to check if any fradulent inquiries had been made. But I'm probably going to cancel it because I haven't had any troubles and it kinda seems like a waste of $.

I'll stick to the free credit reports we're all eligible for once a year.

I think it's a waste of money. No matter what, there's still damage that's going to be done - it's not like they can stop a person from using your info to begin with.

I have Credit Keeper which gives you a 3-bureau credit report and scores, they also monitor it for you in case anything comes up and that's pretty much it. No one can really prevent identity theft, but I like keeping an eye on my credit so that's why I signed up for it.
