Last month it looked as if Linens 'n Things was doomed to go out of business, and when no bidders stepped up to keep some of the stores open the chain had no other choice but to admit its non-existent future.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the coalition of liquidators in charge of shutting down Linens 'n Things could start the going-out-of-business sales today. Whether they begin today, tomorrow, or next month, liquidation is inevitable and as with all of these situations there's no guarantee about what will be on the shelves. First come, first served — are you hoping to find some necessities or holiday items on sale?

Hmmmm I might check it out today...I'll be going near one in my area after work.
1I'd love to catch a sale, but I live in a really small town with no Linens N Things nearby.
2I have the same problem as Angela123. Such a shame because I'd really love to take advantage of the sale.
3We'll be moving in the next few months, so if the timing's right I might be able to clean up on things for the new home. I haven't been to a L&T for a long time (sounds like I'm not the only one!) but I'd check it out for the possibility of good deals.

6They liquidated the ones near where I work in Norther Virginia a couple of months back. I was just in Cleveland, OH visiting a friend a couple of weekends ago and they were liquidating that one already.

9The next one guys are looking for is Circuit City to go. Some of their promos, like the web match thing, are being seen as a sign of desperation to survive.
10They liquidated one near my work a few months ago. The sales were nothing special. It was only on the items that were a few hundred dollars that the deepest discounts were on. But anything under $100 were only 20-30% off.
11Wow i just looked on their website and there are no more stores in my vicinity, they all got shut down when they liquidated early this year.

12So Lame!!! i just got a gift card for LNT as a wedding gift and there isn't even one near me!!! i guess i will go online and shop right now!
