Mildred Heath was recently honored as America's Oldest Worker for 2008. She and her husband bought a newspaper in Nebraska when she was 23. Today she's 100-years-old. She's been a journalist and publisher for 85 years and still works 30 hours, six days a week. "I enjoy working and things that need to be done I go ahead and do them," Mildred says in the video below. "So it should be some kind of inspiration."

Thank you for posting this. I love this story.
1Mrs. Heath is an inspiration. I want to be a journalist, and I'm just starting out, but I hope I will have the endurance she has!
That is absolutely amazing. She is an inspiration to us all.
2I hope I'm not working when I'm that old!
3kudos to her though, she obviously loves what she does and if that's what makes her happy, I'm all for it.
4that's a work ethic for you. i know that for myself - i feel like i'll be working forever. especially when you're a business owner, you feel like you'll have to work more and more and that's probably how this couple is. it's a great legacy to leave to the family assuming that newspaper doesn't become obsolete anytime soon. i'm sure that they've seen big changes over the years.
5I can see loving a job like that.
6Good for her! She must have a sharp mind because she challenges it on a daily basis. That something I want to do so I either delay or never have age-related mental illnesses.
7Wow, she's awesome. I personally don't see myself working at that age, or beyond 65 for that matter, but if she enjoys it, good for her.
