Most of us are trying to be better about saving for the sake of having a cash cushion, but that doesn't mean we can't simultaneously save for a special something.
Aside from adding more padding to my emergency fund, I have my sights on saving for my honeymoon and my friend's bachelorette party and wedding. Do you have any savings goals in the pipeline?

Converse
Birkenstock
Mexx
In addition to my emergency fund, I have a vacation fund, and I with my boyfriend just started saving up for our wedding and honeymoon.
1For our wedding! It's only 189 days away
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2No. Both my boyfriend & I have savings accounts, but we haven't assigned the funds to anything yet... they're just the post-grad pot. They'll pay professional school/wedding/honeymoon/down payment on a house or parts of all of the above.
Just having the money is nice.
3a week in Vienna!
4Kids, I think they're pretty special, and I'd like to have them one day, ha!
Other than that, a trip to Germany my husband and I are taking next year.
5Saving to buy stocks. Historically, sometime after a big crash, things went up. Warren Buffet played it that way. When he smelled greed, he got scared. When he smelled fear, he got greedy. 1929, 1987, 2003. Sooner a later bottom has to be established, and a lot of money is going to be made.
6foundation repair. ugh!
7downpayment on a house!
8Very superficial, but - laser treatments to improve facial scars. It's not so much saving *for* it -- I have the money now -- but I've told myself I have to get to a certain amount in my savings account before I spend the money.
9My future unemployment and pay cut from my new job.
10Ray-ban aviators!
11cubadog, ugh!! that sucks! I don't know if what you or I wrote is really what Savvy meant by "special," lol
12I have too many things i need to save for,
Myself personally: a new car
both me and my fiance: a new couch and the wedding/honeymoon.
13Buying a House! We're closing at the end of the month! And we need to buy w washer and dryer, refridgerator, lawn mower, the list is endless!
14Basically right now: 2 things
And I'm saving up
shopping money for that trip!
15I'm going to the Caribbean and then Miami next month for 2 weeks.
Another Canon DSLR camera. I'm a photographer on the side and I just want another Canon camera to add to my collection even though I already have 5!
We are saving for our honeymoon trip back home to Alaska. We "have" the money right now, but it is a huge expense and we would like to have as much extra as possible. I also don't want to worry about budgeting too much while I'm on vacation! It's the only vacation I'll probably be going on in the next year or so.
16My husband and I are planning to start trying at the beginning of 2009 for our first child. Right now we're saving with the goal that I could be a stay-at-home-mom when the baby arrives.
17I'm saving up for all those post-college expenses, specifically a washer and dryer in case my next apartment has hook-ups. I want the red ones at Lowe's!
18i'm saving up for an emergency fund & deposit/first month's rent so i can be in a good place when i move out of my parent's house next year.
19i guess that my goal should be to save for my honeymoon with my fiance since we're getting married soon, but really the thing that i WOULD save for would be to have a kid so we wouldn't be strapped when the time comes. but unfortunately i'm not really in a place where i have money to save - it's all going to bills and to pay off my current debts.
20Yes I am.
For two major things next year.
I want to see no less than three out of the State NASCAR races next year. So in order to enjoy the full experience I need to save in advance.
Second, I want to either take my sister to Puerto Rico for a week long luxury resort vacation or buy her a new tankless water heater for her house. Either or.

22We are saving for a house downpayment, as the prices are dropping through the floor right now.
We are also saving for a trip to florida next year with all of our friends YAY!
23my wedding, a new (to me) car, and a down payment on a condo. we've got a ways to go!
24down payment for a house, and I guess also for when we decide to have kids, since that will probably mean I'll be away from work for some period of time.
25to buy a NYC (Manhattan)apartment - with decent square footage I am also saving hardcore for retirement through my 401K and newly opened mutual fund
26Continue saving into an emergency fund and also saving for a new apartment.
27IRONMAN in COZUMEL! It's in November 2009 and I want to pay for everything --- plane tickets, hotel, cost to ship my bike, etc. --- out of my checknig/ savings and NOT charge any of it!
28Probably not lawchick but it helps to make it funny. I am in a great position in my current position where my boss and friend is holding on to me until I find a new position. My current company is such a mess that a year in a stable boring job will be great.
29I'm saving up to buy a (used) car. Mine died last year and I've been borrowing my mom's. I don't want to get a loan until the economy is more stable (my hours may get cut), so I'm going to try to pay the whole thing in cash. I've been saving since January and only have a small portion.
30My savings are pretty depleted right now...we had a very simple wedding/honeymoon so that we could use our savings for a healthy down payment on a house.
Now we're saving up to continue fixing it up and making it our own, one project at a time! Hopefully finishing up painting the exterior this weekend. What a job!
31Well, have the emergency fund... and then....
32Saving for a vacation... I haven't even decided where I'm going with it yet.
For our cruise to Bermuda! I can't wait
33Mostly, I just stock money away without thinking of what it's going to later other than the Big Things (a house, having kids one day, etc). It's just there, and I don't touch it. But for something special, we are saving separately for a honeymoon sometime next year -- probably Peru!
34Not really. We just bought what we were saving for: a wood stove for the house. It should help us save on our heating bills b/c we have all the free wood we want to burn and in a few years it will probably pay for itself.
Other than that, the only thing we're really saving for is retirement, lol.
35My sister's bridal shower.
36saving to redecorate my bathroom.
37They say when it rains it pours, but mainly I am saving for my wedding and honeymoon. Although my car is 10 years old and might not hold on much longer.
