If you're hoping to get part-time work this holiday season to finance your long list of gifts, it may not be so easy to find this year. According to a new SnagAJob.com survey, managers plan on hiring 33 percent less hourly employees than they hired last holiday season. Shawn Boyer, the CEO of SnagAJob, says jobs do exist but you should start applying now to separate yourself from the crowd.

uggg I did last year and it was WAY too stressful! Plus now I am doing school part-time! On top of baking cookies, buying and wrapping presents, decorating, writing and sending cards out and all those "joyas" things (haha) a part-time job was just a little too much!
1In started working a second job this summer and plan on keeping it at least through the holiday season. I feel like all I do is work, but at least it's somewhat fun work!
2I'm actually quitting my part-time job to concentrate on my schoolwork right now. I would keep it through the winter if I wasn't going back home for the holidays.
3I work from home so I was thinking of getting a PT job just to get out and be around people and make a little extra money. We're buying a house so the extra cash couldn't hurt!
4I already have two jobs... I don't think I could handle one more.
5Why yes I am. I have too many goals that require additional loot and too much spare time on my hands not to seek an additional job. Strange thing so far - most retailers are not hiring for seasonal or part-time at this time. Their letting their staff dwindle but not replacing anyone, which of course leads to poorer customer service, which leads to less return customer and bad word of mouth which leads to no more business.
Hmm.
6me too monday. I would love the extra $$ but I am already feeling maxed out emotionally and mentally.
7I too, already have 2 jobs so yeah, not gonna pick up a 3rd...
8I've thought about it, but it would definitely depend on the place. I don't think I can handle the drama of Christmas shoppers.
Maybe a bookstore or somewhere, then yeah.
9I would really, really like to take a part time job at a bookstore, but I'm afraid I wouldn't have enough time for homework. I already work on Fridays and Saturdays so if I had to fit in something on Sunday I would never see anyone! I visit my best friend maybe once a month as it is, and only see my boyfriend after work on the weekends.
10I'm actually looking for a second job right now in general, not just for seasonal purposes!!
11i've actually thought about it but during this time of year in my industry, we work really long hours and it doesn't really lend itself to allowing me to pick up shifts elsewhere. last night at dinner though my fiance and i talked about how i should start bartending again since i stay up late. i might look into that.
12Thankfully, my current job pays well and offers good benefits. Extra money is nice, but I don't see a huge need for a seasonal job this year.
13I'm applying to a couple of places so I can earn some extra cash to help my family out.
