Family and friends were the primary recipients of my business cards when I got my first batch from my first job out of college, but I've started using them more as I've gotten older.
Networking situations require an exchange of contact information, and business cards are usually the way to go. Do you use your business cards?

i never used to but now i try to when ever i can. i think that when i was single it would have been better since then i wouldn't have to worry about giving out my cell - i could have just given out my work info and then i could have easily screened but oh well. at least now i use them for networking and it's proven to be successful for the most part.
1I use mine all the time. I give two to all of my patients (my practice actually tells us to do that, though).
2Yes, I always carry a few in my wallet with me. Not only do I use them at work-related functions, you never know when a networking opportunity can arise. I've even made valuable contacts at random places like a BBQ with friends/family.
3I always carry them they come in very handy when I do not want to give out my home info or definitely for networking.
4Awww, thanks for using an image of Asian women.
As an Asian American woman, I find
myself very invisible in mainstream media, so I always get the warm and fuzzies every time I see other Asian/Asian American women in the media, especially when they're in clothes other than
saris or cheongsams!
As for business cards... meh. I only pull mine out when I genuinely want to keep in contact with a person or think they might want to keep in contact with me - or when my boss and my supervisor both pull out their business cards, coz I KNOW I'll get a strict talking-to if I don't also inundate whoever it is they're shoving their business cards to with MINE...
5I love using business cards. I didn't have them when I first started working, so being able to give them out is sort of a sign that I've arrived.
I have to give them out at the cocktail parties my company gives, so that's when I use them the most; but I include them when I'm corresponding with writers I might hire. It never hurts to have your information out there. I keep a few with me for non-work use, too; it's quicker to hand one over than it is to write out my name and number.
6I carry a few in a my wallet but I use them more often for jotting down notes or reminders... probably not the best use but better than none at all?
7I use my old business cards to clean under my nails, (then I throw it away, obviously). It works better than the implements designed for cleaning nails.
8I use mine all the time. You never know when someone will need your service, or have a friend who needs it and it's easy for them to say, "Oh, hey, here's my friends' business card".... When you have something solid that people shove in their wallet, you aren't just networking with the people you gave it to, but all the people they know or might meet as well!

10I have them in my wallet and I try to give them to lots of people! It helps to make you look more mature and professional! And it's easier then getting a pen and paper and writing stuff down
I usually put them in like the christmas cards I send to clients. Also I always have one on me to put in bowls at food places for free lunch ahaha
11i always have them on me but don't use them as much as i should.
12i have them but i deliberately dont use them. it gives me a good excuse to contact people after i meet them then.
13I think using business cards is more common in some fields more than others. Except in Asia. In Asia you must have a business card!
