The Office does an incredible job of reminding us what a pain work can be and it makes everyday situations seriously funny, but when it comes to actual pain because of work the laughing comes to an end. There's nothing funny about lower back pain, carpal tunnel, neck and shoulder pain, or strained eyes.
Do you have any ailments that you blame on your job?

I was only a server for seven years and now I have a right hip that's higher than my left, so I have back problems because my back tries to correct it. Also I am developing carpal tunnel in my right hand. I'm fighting that off by doing exercises on my hand.
1Carpal tunnel and my office always gets the cheapest furniture so i'm sitting on an awful chair that has been giving me lower back pain for the past year or so. I put in a request for to get a new ergonomic chair...... DENIED!
2Uggghhh yes! My chair is too big for me (I'm very petite) and it's like huge man sized, so I can't lean back in it so I'm always slouched over and get really bad pains in my neck and shoulders- they should make chairs for women!!!
3I have HORRIBLE carpal-tunnel because of my previous job (which required STRAIGHT typing for 7+ hours a day) and it was just horrible. It's been getting better but, it's still unfortunately there. In my current job all I can complain about are my eyes hurting. I may need to get one of those nice, LCD monitors sometime soon...
4i feel like my eyesight has gotten a lot worse since i stare at a computer screen all day - although i am online a lot otherwise when i go home - but staring at a bright school for 8+ hours a day for work - that's killer!
5My left hand would always go numb at my old job. I went to a physician and she said it could possibly be Carpal tunnel.
I've since switched to a new job and have not had the numbness. I think it was a combo of my desk, chair, keyboard that brought it on. Hopefully it doesn't come back!
6I have had a twitchy eye for weeks...everyone says it's stress. I blame my job for that!!!
7My last job caused my severe carpal tunnel in my right hand from typing. My right was worse as I also used it for the mouse. Luckily I was out of there within 3 months so it wasnt too bad but still plays up.
I also have severe back pain which I believe to be from running errands for bosses on uneven city streets in (his demand) high heels.
I am lucky now our company is so good at providing good equipment. However my back is playing up again as they wont prove me a laptop dock (we dont have desktop pcs) and I type most of the day.
8Bartender...get horrible back pains. And my SO who's a bartender has bar rot on his poor fingers!!
9Alright so. Because I am taller than a manufacturer thinks I should be, I have to hunch. And so my shoulders always hurt and my neck..I'm not even sure what's up with it. If I turn my head too fast or something, it feels like I get whiplash. Sometimes it feels like I have pinched nerves. Not sure what's going on, but I'm hoping a dear ol' doc can clue me in.
10I'm amazed that I never got a rattlesnake bite on the job when I worked at a golf course for 3 years. I encountered them almost every day. I did get a couple nasty purple welts from being hit with golf balls, though! Makes me appreciate my office job now.
11Back pain from being slouched over the keyboard in an ergonomically incorrect chair for 8 hours a day. Ugh.
