Forbes Traveler has strong opinions about some of the offerings in the world of travel. It's offended by things like celebrity cruises and babymoons, because in the words of Thomas Kohnstamm, author of Do Travel Writers Go to Hell?, "People are purchasing a fixed experience rather than traveling for travel’s sake." Which of the trends, which Forbes attacks as dumb travel trends, do you think is the dumbest?

I can't narrow it down to just one; however, I did go on a babymoon...
It was
fabulous! The "Mama Mia" massage at the Ritz is heavenly and safe for pregnant mommies. It also helps to get away from family telling you what you should and shouldn't do while pregnant. My
husband and I really enjoyed our little holiday.
1They all sound ridiculous to me.
2Yes, very ridiculous.
3I would swear you made some of these up (scent marketing? really?!) but I've seen enough press releases from "creative" vacation planners that I have to guess these are probably real. So sad.
4I hate it when people talk on their cell phones while hiking, I mean, really!?
(Obviously I chose the gadget mania option!)
5I used to work for a PR firm that had a new hotel as a client and all we would do is brainstorm ways to try to get newscoverage on the hotel and offering these buzz word packages was how we tried to do it...one that is missing is the Green hotel trend.
Oh and yes, I sat in on a meeting about creating a scent to pump through the hotel...it was so bad.
6I think they are silly. What happened to a vacation or getaway being just that!
7On-board celebrities are SILLY. So are procreation vacations. I don't know about you but I don't need a vacation for that kind of thing.
8I just can't narrow it down. I think it's funny people really sign up.
9I went with the scented hotels thing. Although, it was cool when I went to Hershey Park that the hotel smelled like chocolate. But I certainly wouldn't take a trip just to smell the hotel.
10Ugh, the gadget trend -- if it's work-related. It's completely silly to be online while you're taking time off to relax. In my mind, it's not a vacation if someone's working. Turn your blackberry off! [Side bar: I hate that the American work ethic can no longer be confined to the workplace. If a person likes their job enough to work after hours, then great -- but I am appalled by companies who expect that for all their employees. And yes, I did quit my old job for that very reason (much happier now with the new company!).]
11A lot of these are stupid, but I like the stay cation...where if you're staying home for a holiday. I've only heard it once though.
I did a "babymoon" or fertility vacation...but we didn't call it that. We just went to vegas and bet on baby! woohoo.
12they are all pretty bad - but I really hate how they just put -cation at the end of thing to try and make it sound cool
13All of them. The concept of 'staycation' (hate that word) was already being practiced by millions of people (it is called not spending what I dont have) and these idiots think they discovered the eight wonder of the world by naming it like that.
14i had to say that the procreation one was kind of dumb to me. the others i can kind of see the benefit - but that one - nope - it makes NO sense to me at all.
i have to say though - it's odd to me that a magazine like forbes would make this kind of list - but they are known for their lists so ok...
15Once I saw an advertisement for a Scrapbooking Cruise and I thought that was kinda geeky...
16They all sound really ridiculous.
17I think several of these are pretty silly, but gadgetmania takes the cake. I almost had to hide my husband's cell phone when we went on our honeymoon. I made an example of turning mine off and stashing it in the glove compartment but he refused to let go of his. Thank goodness we had NO cell reception whatsoever where we were staying
My feelings were a little hurt that it took literal impossibility to get him to focus on ME
on our HONEYMOON, though...
18"Glamping", glam-camping. It's an oxymoron and completely kills the spirit of roughing it and getting back to nature.
