When you're scouting out companies as possible contenders to launch a career, it's important to not only consider the demands of the position but what the company can do for your development. Working for a firm that facilitates employee growth and likes to promote from within can be very valuable to whether you're just starting out or you're looking to make the move from a job to a career.
BusinessWeek compiled its annual list of the best places to launch a career, and this year it includes a total of 119 employers. The list gives specific information about each company, like average pay, signing bonuses, mentorship programs, and diversity. See the top 10 when you read more.
Accounting, tech, and banking pretty much have the top 10 spots locked-in; you can find the rest of the long list by visiting BusinessWeek.

6wow this is really funny - i indirectly work for Marriott - so it's good to know that they are considered to be a great company to start your career.
7I would love to work for Goldman! It would be such an opportunity to be on the team and surrounded by the smartest guys on the street.
8Hey SugarKat, even accounting firms have loads of non-accounting jobs (marketing, event planning, design etc) My companies' on the list and I never in a million years would have thought I'd end up at an accounting firm.
