If you haven't opted out of receiving credit card offers completely, then you may have noticed that you're at least receiving fewer offers in the mail than usual.
According to market research firm Synovate, credit card issuers have started paring back the amount of mail offers they've been mailing to consumers. Have you noticed the absence of credit card offers in your mail pile?

Wow, I totally assumed this was because I moved a few months back...and that they just hadn't found me yet!
I sent in postcards to various companies that removed me from lists that send out offers like that. It is like a no send list. It is amazing how little junk mail I receive now! It is great!
I sent letters to be removed from list and opted out of mailings; however, I am still getting offers. I just shred them.
I did notice a few weeks ago that they don't come in as often.
I get the same amount and I just shred them.
i have noticed that there are fewer however i get several from the SAME company on a monthly basis - that i don't understand. oh well...i like to recycle.
Thank goodness, that stuff piles up if you don't shred upon receipt.
It's the same for me like Deidre. I moved a few months back and found out that some mail that I've wanted forwarded was not getting forwarded, so I figured the same applied to credit card offers.
I opted out a few years ago. Now I only receive them from the banks that I have accounts at.
It has been really nice to not recieve so much junk mail! Although I did opt out of credit card offers.
I'm receiving more credit card offers than ever. I have a huge stack by the shredder for disposal.
Now that you mention it, I think I may be getting less credit card offers in the mail, but I'm getting MORE threatening-sounding marketing phone calls that say things like, "This is your final warning, if you do not respond within 10 business days...you might miss out on a chance to refinance". Heart attack narrowly averted!
We are actually getting more than ever. We average about five a day. Sometimes my entire mailbox is just credit card offers (i.e. trash).
Did use the op out register and works decent. Do miss sending back all those prepaid envelopes stuffed with recycle to insure additional business reply postage they must pay... Good old days...
It slowed a while ago but I thought it was because I was in the slow period again. It usually slows down every now and then.
I totally suggest "opting out". I did it and receive considerably less solicitations.
I get just as many as before....but I can't get a credit card, wtf?
what i did is to open the ones with return envelope cut up the offer and send it back in there
pre paid envelope and they stopped sending them dont cut your name and address up put in the return window
Laughing Frisco. I do the exact same thing. It has reduced ALL junk mail. They send it to me, and I just put it back the pre paid envelope they provide. It is amazing how quickly they stop sending you things when THEY have to pay for it, I've even gone so far as return other junk mail to them...the ones without prepaid envelopes. NOW what to do with all the MEGA spam messages. They are totally filling up junk boxes, and some are slipping through the filters.
The other good use I make of JUNK mail, it makes great kindling for a wood stove. Saves energy, saves trees, saves me money.
