When bigestivediscuit shared that she enjoys her 45-minute commute because it gives her a chance to zone out and have "me" time, it made me wonder how the rest of you feel about the time you spend going to and from work. Do you love it or hate it?

I hate it right now...but I am moving (yay and nay haha) so my communte is going to be MUCH quicker now
1I completely agree with bigestivediscuit. I can listen to my terrible music and sing or just hang out and highway-people watch. That's why I agreed when my boyfriend and I moved in together to be the one with a longer commute!
2I don't 'love it' love it, but I don't hate it and without moving, I wouldn't switch. I take my daughter to school on the city bus, which gives us time to talk (without me reaching for the car radio or complaining about other drivers) then I take the bus on to work - a ride I can completely zone out on.
3I used to have a commute that took anywhere between 20 minutes and an 1 1/2 hours depending on the traffic. So I am very, very happy now that I have a 20 minute commute period. I get to go against the traffic so it's never affected by the random backups and I've saved tons of money on gas since it's mostly highway.
4I love mine now...but in November its going to change for the worse. My office is moving and it will triple my commute time.
5I used to have to drive for 1.25-1.5 hours on backed-up LA freeways (3 of them!) to get to work every day . . . now I have a 40 minute bus ride. I do the crossword puzzle. Its great!
6It depends on the day of the week. I have a 50 mile commute (one way) that takes about an hour, which isn't so bad with my iPod. Except on Friday afternoons, when everybody and their brother is on the freeway trying to start their weekends, then my road rage tends to appear, lol.
7i'm kind of on the fence about this one. granted - i used to have to commute from my mom's house in NJ before i got my new apartment in NYC - and that commute sucked. i had to wake up SO early to get the bus and then i had to try to rush every day to catch the earliest bus home which was always stressful cause you don't want to have to wait around for another bus if you miss one. now my commute's not so bad
8My commute is only 10-15 minutes depending on if there is an accident or not. I LOVE it b/c I get to listen to my music and think about what I will be doing when I get off work. Sometimes I wish my commute was longer.
9i hate it. my dream is to live walking distance from work. now, i'm 90ish minutes away. FAIL.
10Love it! I work at home - so just a short stroll from my bed to my home office. Best commute I've ever had!
11Love my commute- its only about 20 min.
12it's waaaaaay better than i was expecting it to be. the only thing that'd make it better would be cooler temperatures or a functioning air conditioner!
13Hated it when I commuted.
I live 6 minutes from work (and my daughter's school) now - and LOVE it!
14I love it. From the time that I leave my house to the time that I arrive at the parking garage on my college campus, it's only about a 15 minute drive. It's not too long so I don't get too impatient, but its long enough that I can listen to a few songs on my ipod and drink most of my coffee before I get there. I also like having alone time in the car, where I can pick my own music without having to appease everyone else.
15it's a 10min walk to the train, and then like, a 30 second ride.
so short. It's nice.
16I love it. I bought a really nice car with leather and aircon etc, and its so comfortable. I listen to my music, sing along, enjoy the drive, and am so much more relaxed when I get home!
17I'm indifferent. I have 45-minute door-to-door commute, 25 minutes of which is walking. It's not a nice area to walk in, and I don't enjoy beeing squeezed like a sardine on a crowded train, but there are worse things in life.
18I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It takes me 45 minutes to get to work door to door. I wish it was shorter so I can have more sleep time.
19it depends - the dc commute can be quiet and reflective if you get there early enough. if you are always late like me, it's crowded and uncomfortable. but you get a minute to sit down (maybe!) and listen to your ipod before you get off.
20My commute is all through residential area's and traffic with a TON of stop lights. I only live 5 miles from my job, but it takes me 20 minutes to get there!
21I definitely hate spending 45-60 minutes or more stuck in traffic. Last Tuesday my drive to work was an hour and 35 minutes. Commuting blows...
22I think I'd like it a lot less if I had to drive.
I think part of the reason why I enjoy it
now is because I don't have to get behind the wheel! Of course, that poses a lot more problems e.g. certain Tube lines are down, the bus doesn't come on time, etc. but I think it's even more
stressful when you're driving.
23I love mine. It's not long and I get to look at Lake Michigan on my way to work.
24Hate it! NYC traffic is the worst!! I wish I lived withing walking distance from work.
25Ugh. I hate it. I hate traffic.
26I hate it. I have to take public trans. in Miami and well, there isn't really public trans. to speak of. I spend about 30 minutes commuting to and from work and another 45 minutes to get to school, and let me tell you, waiting in the hot sun in 90 degree weather for the bus to show up is no picnic.
27I love it... 20 minutes door to door... and the stop in the photo is the stop before my stop.
28Don't love it and don't hate it. I try to make it as comfortable as possible by ensuring I get a seat which is the hardest part, however it all depends on the irritating individuals I have to commute with. By that I mean their smell, make annoying noises, coughing, throat clearing. Which is why I can't do without my MP3 player blocks out the noise, well except for the smelly and the 3 times my size man who decides to squash me up.
29Well there you go my daily commute to work
I drive about 100 miles every day and I leave every morning at 5:20 am. Not much to love. I wish I could move closer to my school, but the area around my school (and within a 20-mile radius) is simply for rich people.
30When I stay with my boyfriend, we have a 45 minute commute. Since we work at the same place, we are able to spend a little time together and relax together before we're stuck at our desks not seeing each other until the end of the day. It's a nice little bonus.
31Eh, I don't really care. It doesn't take me that long unless it snows or there's an accident...
32I much prefer commuting by train instead of driving to work. I like the eco-friendliness of public transportation and it give me time to think without worrying about endangering other travelers. The only think to watch out for are the suspicious characters on the trains.
33Hate it. Commuting to NYC can be a nightmare where 1-2 hour commutes are "normal." My commute is 45 mins door-to-door, but it's a pain being crammed into a train and having to carry all my stuff (work laptop, gym clothes, etc). In the summer is the worst when you feel like you might suffocate waiting for the subway and carrying around all my stuff doesn't help!
I envy all of you who have commutes
