JetBlue's CEO may have shown his employees that he's a stand-up guy by voluntarily cutting his salary, but the executives of the airline could probably save more money by figuring out a plan for greater efficiency. Research shows that JetBlue was the most-delayed major airline in August, with an on-time arrival rate of 64.7 percent, while the industry average for being on-time was 77.3 percent.

With that kind of failing record, some passengers may be more likely to seek out seats on other airlines. Northwest's on-time arrival record of 85.3 percent outshines JetBlue's August performance, and its punctuality made Northwest the top performer, timing-wise. As for regional carriers, Hawaiian Airlines' 91 percent on-time arrival record makes me want to put on a lei and say aloha!

I've never had to take this airline. Thankfully, I have several colleagues have taken this airline and hated it. They were delayed for a big conference we had with the state board. How I wish could travel to our school in Hawaii. That would be heaven. All work of course.
1I used to love JetBlue. I used to never have problems with delays AND they have cable TV in each seat and great snack choices. However, the last few times that I have flown JetBlue (in and out of the Columbus, Ohio airport and Kennedy airport in NYC) and they have been incredibly delayed plus lots of turbulence (not that the turbulence is their fault, but I am a very fearful flier so the turbulence counts for me).
2I will still continue to take JetBlue -- Their delays are always something reasonable & never too long (an hour so that the flight crew can get to sleep -- NO PROBLEM). They are, for me, ALWAYS the cheapest flight.
Their customer service is grand too -- they've changed my flight for no fee twice now.
3that has to suck that he's trying to take this position that he's trying to help the state of the airline by taking the pay cut and having htat have zero impact on things.
jetblue used to be a GREAT airline that everyone would prefer to fly and well - now not so much. if you know that you're not going to get anywhere on time, it makes it hard to choose that airline vs. another one.
4I never traveled Jet Blue, mainly because I only flown on international flights.
5However, I heard some not-to-pleasant stories about them recently.
I am not surprised by this. Since JFK is a hub and a big chunk of the flights go in and out of there, it is TOTALLY understandable. My own airline would have better numbers if we didn't fly in and out of JFK so much.
6Let me add, of course Hawaiian has a high on-time arrival! Perfect weather and no flying into the Northeast!
7I love jet blue. Ive flown them non stop from SFO to Dulles in DC twice now plus 10 or 12 times on trips from Oakland to Long beach. They have been delayed for one of the flights and it was ten min. So that was really no big deal. What was worse was flying around Dulles before landing for an hour. That wasnt jetblue's fault though,Some plane got stuck on the runway or something.
8eek. I'm flying with them later this month. I thought that they were a really good airline.
9I think I've traveled JB once & it was on time. The airline that I used to hate, but has improved it's on-time ratio at least for my flights is AK Air. I've taken about 8 flights this year with AK, but have only been late once!
10Haha, thanks savvy...just what I need, another reason to dream about a Hawaiian vacation
