Just 28 percent of you said your workplace promotes casual Fridays, but how strict are they about your exit time? I've found many offices are a little more relaxed about when workers head home for the weekend than their departure times on other days. What's the deal at your office?

A lot of the time at my work, we will cut out about an hour and a half early and go play some morale-building soccer.
1I wish we could leave early, especially on days of low morale or mostly busy work!
2I stay later on Friday than any other day. I work in a time sensitive business so if something doesn't get done on Friday there will be much money lost. I am looking at 8 p.m. tonight.
3nope. I hate this friggin place
4at the company i just interned with, we had 'summer hours,' so if you worked 9 hours/day for monday - thursday, you could leave at noon on friday. i loved it!
5I can't ever leave early!!! I have to punch in and out and open an close so I will get caught!
6usually i do...like 15 or 20 minutes early
7a few times my boss even let me go at lunch!
Yes, we have summer hours!!! Every Friday till August 29th our company closes at 2pm!
8Hells yeah, I leave early! However, I do come in earlier in the morning in order to make this happen. But if it gets me to the weekend that much sooner, I'm willing to get a move-on a bit more quickly in the morning...
9In the summer I take every other Friday off. The Fridays that I work, depending what's on the calendar, I leave half-hour or an hour early.
10Meh. It's 4:28 right now. I WISH I could take off early.
11My company had six floating holiday Fridays for the summer - you can take them as half days, whatever. It was pretty nice!
12The way my schedule works out, I usually get off anywhere from an hour early to all day on Friday (but one the days I have all day off, that usually means I have a show I have to work that night).
13Most people in my office are salaried or paid on a weekly rate, and a VAST majority cut out early on Fridays (and other days of the week too... grr...), but my position is an hourly position. This is a plus because I am eligible for overtime, but a negative, because I MUST work at least 40 hours.
The cool thing is, we have a new policy for what they call "Volunteer 40". Which means, when Friday come around, if you are finished with your session (I am a video editor) and you've reached 40 hours you can fill out a request to leave. What I do, is I get to work 1/2 an hour early every day, (we are allowed to do this), then come Friday, I have at LEAST 2-2.5 hours of "overtime" I trade in to leave early. PLUS, the edits I have been booked on on Fridays the past couple months are pretty easy & we finish early. I would MUCH rather be OUT of there at 3:30ish, than sit around and do nothing for two hours!
But honestly I can't complain because my job is freaking awesome.
14it's interesting - we have 'summer Friday's' at work so there are often times when either the client isn't in so we have nothing really to do that's urgent, or the agency partners that we work with are in the office - so it's quiet. i think that we like to try to leave a bit earlier - but today for example, i was there later than usual because we had soo much going on.
15So far although my bosses leave early I have chosen not to and it has not gone unnoticed. Plenty of kudos and much respect from peers.
Work my azz off until the brontosaurus blows its huge whistle. Then I slide down off my dinosaur and punch out.
Oh wait that's Fred Flintstone.
16We have summer hours from Memorial Day to Labor Day so we can leave at Noon. Our offices in Israel are open Sunday - Thursday so not much is going on Fridays anyway.
17I do it just cuz I can...I have been blessed with an imaginative mind so I usually don't have a problem finding something fun to occupy my time-
18My works flexible, I get paid hourly but my boss works in another office and is happy i'm not too busy. I have the easiest job ever. I just leave whenever I like and come in whenever I like. I have to make sure I dont abuse it though
19Yup!
Our office shuts down at 1pm on Fridays - it's company policy and definitely
the BEST thing about working there!
20I work in a Teevee House, my job as a producer entails that I cover parties and in this part of the world people party most weekend so I end up working longer hours on Fridays..........
21We have summer working hours at the moment - otherwise, I stay as long as I regularly would on Fridays.
22I'm a scientist -- I leave when the experiments are finished. Yesterday (Friday), this meant that I got into the lab at 6:30am, and left a little after 7pm. The day of the week has absolutely no bearing on whether I leave earlier or later.
23I wish.
24I'll leave a little early (by maybe an hour) on Friday if I've worked a few long days earlier in the week.
25Yep! It started when I began my job last winter--I work at a synagogue, and when I started Sabbath (sundown on Friday, after which you're not supposed to work) began before the workday was over, so I had to leave a couple of hours earlier. It just became accepted practice, so I get to do that when sundown happens much later
One of the few perks of my job.
26I have to stay till my work is done, which makes my hours erratic but flexible. So if I want to be out early on Friday I can stay late on thursday, or come in early on Fri, etc.
27I like to take the (fk'n) day off!
28I've been w/my job for 7 years, so I
come and go as I please within reason.
only like 15 mins early...unless there is nothing going on and our Boss just lets us go a hole hour 1/2 eatly...then I don't even know what to do with myself
29We have 4 floating Fridays off and half days before major holidays. So I work with that and I might leave maybe 10 minutes before the EOD if I can.
30From May to September, we work 9 hour days Monday-Thursday and leave at noon on Fridays.
31I'm a doctor so really it just depends on how many patients I have. Unfortunatley it seems I have the most appointments on Fridays!
32my old office had summer hours, so we would go at 3:00 on fridays, and 1:00 on fridays before the long weekend. at this job, if i go early, it's only like 30 minutes early, and i creatively make it look like i put in my time by taking a short lunch or something!
33It's actually in our schedule, all fridays we get off an hour earlier.
