According to BellaSugar, your favorite colors might not suit your skin tone, but CareerBuilder says if you follow the colors you're drawn to they'll tell you something about your career choices. They've launched the Color Career Counselor, a free online color-based personality test based on the Dewey Color System. The colors you like and dislike say something about the challenges you favor and those you avoid, therefore indicating career compatibility.

I'm pretty skeptical about the claims that color preferences can be interpreted to discover which careers are most suitable — and am even more suspicious because they ask your current occupation before generating answers — but my results were certainly interesting. See what my color test told me when you read more.
According to the Color Career Counselor, my best occupational category is "Creator." The fields of interest happen to include "writing or places where they can express, assemble, or implement creative ideas," and suggested occupations include writer and editor. The second best occupational category that came up was something that doesn't appeal to me at all — it suggested fields of interest like care-giving and instructing young people, which hasn't ever been my forte.
What do you think of this color career counseling idea? If you take the test (it takes two minutes) I'd love to hear about your own results in the comments!

This test was fun! I don't know if all the results come out somewhat general and creepily feel like they are exactly how you are (like horoscopes) but mine definitely fit my personality! The traits it predicted about me were dead on and the jobs were things I wouldn't mind considering
1I thought the color test was interesting. It hit me on the head as to the field I was in and going to re-enter. And I thought it would be vague like horoscopes too.
2Both of my categories totally suit me!
Best Occupational Category
You're a CREATOR
Key Words:
Nonconforming, Impulsive, Expressive, Romantic, Intuitive, Sensitive, and Emotional
These original types place a high value on aesthetic qualities and have a great need for self-expression. They enjoy working independently, being creative, using their imagination, and constantly learning something new. Fields of interest are art, drama, music, and writing or places where they can express, assemble, or implement creative ideas.
CREATOR OCCUPATIONS
Suggested careers are Advertising Executive, Architect, Web Designer, Creative Director, Public Relations, Fine or Commercial Artist, Interior Decorator, Lawyer, Librarian, Musician, Reporter, Art Teacher, Broadcaster, Technical Writer, English Teacher, Architect, Photographer, Medical Illustrator, Corporate Trainer, Author, Editor, Landscape Architect, Exhibit Builder, and Package Designer.
2nd Best Occupational Category
You're an ORGANIZER
Key Words:
Self-Control, Practical, Self-Contained, Orderly, Systematic, Precise, and Accurate
These conservative appearing, plotting-types enjoy organizing, data systems, accounting, detail, and accuracy. They often enjoy mathematics and data management activities such as accounting and investment management. Persistence and patience allows them to do detailed paperwork, operate office machines, write business reports, and make charts and graphs.
3My results were fairly accurate - interesting test!
4I think it is BS. mine said my 2nd best category is a persuader. The only reason it said that is because I am currently in marketing/advertising, and that is a stereo typical trait for that profession, even though I dont have it at all!
5Best Occupational Category: Organizer -- This is so me. Recommended jobs like financial analyst or CPA, which are both thinks I think at which I would excel. "They often enjoy mathematics and data management activities such as accounting and investment management." --> I was a math minor undergrad, and am obsessed with managing my own finances.
Second Best Occupational Category: Researcher -- told me that I have strong scientific orientation and enjoy academic or research environments. This is what I ACTUALLY do -- I'm getting my Ph.D. in oncology/biochemistry.
So I'd say mine nailed me right on the head.
6Okay, they were somewhat off. I was categorized as an organizer which I can say that I am. But enjoying mathematics? I don't think so! Math has never been my forte.
7My results included my current occupation. Too bad I HATE my job.
8My results were pretty dead on: Creator and Researcher
9Interesting. It was right on target. I am a creator.
Although it did ask me what I did before I got to the results so I'm a little skepitcal....
Am I alone on that?
10Wow! I would say it's pretty accurate. But I do think that the last section has a lot to do with it. I mean "how much do you like your current job?" is pretty telltale.
11I got creator and persuader. I think they both suited me well since in essence they are contradictory lol. One one side it said I like to work alone and be creative, on the other end it said I like to work in organizations with large teams with lots of competitiveness and power seeking. I guess they are both true - too bad I can't find a job to incorporate the two
12I am going to law school and am very meticulous so I guess this suits me.

ORGANIZER WORKPLACES
Your very careful, conscientious, conservative nature gives others the confidence to trust you with handling money and material possessions. Structured organizations that have well-ordered chains of command work best for you.
Suggested Organizer workplaces are large corporations, business offices, financial lending institutions, banks, insurance companies, accounting firms, and quality control and inspection departments.

You're a PERSUADER
Key Words:
Witty, Competitive, Sociable, Talkative, Ambitious, Argumentative, and Aggressive
These enterprising types sell, persuade, and lead others. Positions of leadership, power, and status are usually their ultimate goal. Persuasive people like to take financial and interpersonal risks and to participate in competitive activities. They enjoy working with others inside organizations to accomplish goals and achieve economic success.
13I got creator and organizer, which are pretty much spot on.
14I got Organizer and Researcher, which are somewhat off. I'm pretty good at organizing other people's stuff, but not so good at organizing my own life. And I hate doing research. I might be good at it, but who wants to do something they detest for a career?
I'm kind of surprised I didn't get Creator, as that's my current job direction. Go figure...
15I'm a persuader all the way!
16Mine was fairly accurate. I am an apparel developer/project manager.
17I got Creator/Organizer too.
18i got researcher and social manager. the description for researcher is fitting enough, i guess, but most of these suggested jobs make me want to die:
Suggested careers are College Professor, Physician, Psychologist, Pharmacist, Chemist, Marketing Research, Inventor, Sales Forecasting, Project Engineer, Dentist, Identifying Consumer Demand, Chiropractor, Dentist, Medical Technician, Optometrist, Research & Development Manager, Respiratory Therapist, Real Estate Appraiser, Chiropractor, Veterinarian, Geologist, Physicist, Science Teacher, Medical Technologist, and Author of Technical Books.
19mine was definitely off!
20I got Creator/Organizer, which I think is accurate, but it is also the top two traits for my job.
21I think the colors are just there to throw you off and make the last page of questions seem less significant, when that's the actual part that is used to calculate your results.
22I am amazed that it was pretty accurate.
23You're a CREATOR & RESEARCHER ---spot on!
24Mine was a complete 180 from what I actually enjoy doing...I am organized at work, but I'd never say that my primary role is that of an Organizer.
25I am a CREATOR & PERSUADER !!
Dead on!!!!
26It got me dead on--organizer and doer. However, the job "suggestions" were kinda depressing. Haha. Def not what I have in mind...
27Mine was spot on too but I did say I totally love my current job. hmmm. Creator and Persuader
28I got creator, which doesn't surprise me. I have done career counseling a few times in my life, taken tests about my career choice and always seem to get the same thing. I should be a writer or an artist, performer, etc..
29If you are worried about the validity- take the test again with the same results but list a different career- and see what happens.
Most likely these results are based on surveys....most creators chose these colors, persuader chose these...etc. so if i choose the same color as a creator, i am one. I guess.
30Creator - sure.
Persuader - definetly not!
31Researcher/Organizer. And my career aspirations were confirmed
The first thing it
suggested is that I should be a college professor. Dead-on.
32Creator & Organizer. Definitely fit my personality, but I'm not going to go changing careers or anything just because blue happens to be my favorite color...
33Organizer and researchser, I think it fits me but has nothing to do with what I wanna be in the future.. but definitely I thought that I would be a good investigator on human behavior. Maybe that's what I should focus on..
34it says that i'm a creator and the descriptors really seem to fit me - so maybe this one isn't so bad
35Mine was Organizer and Researcher. Organizer is my current job. I haven't really thought about Researcher jobs. But the line "Dislikes are group projects, selling, and repetitive activities." under the Researcher description is definitely me.
36yeah, I dunno about this. Most of these it depends on if you're in a believing mood or in a cynical mood...since you really just see what you want to see.
I got creator, which maybe makes sense because I'm a scientist/engineer/researcher. I like creating new materials and things like that. Funny that I didn't get researcher!

Suggested Creator workplaces are advertising, public relations, and interior decorating firms; artistic studios, theaters and concert halls; institutions that teach crafts, universities, music, and dance schools. Other workplaces to consider are art institutes, museums, libraries, and galleries.

37eh I don't like this test at all, it's making some big assumptions from the little info I gave, also I picked a fake occupation cuz I don't have a career right now and unfortunately you can't choose none. There is another color personality test, I think it's better than this test. http://www.colorquiz.com/ not really a career thing but you get different results depending on your mood and you don't have to give out your personal info before taking it which I really loathe. There's just too many variables for them to manipulate to make this test legit for me and I don't think it hits the right points at least in my point of view. Like you might have a preference for a certain color because of a certain reason and that reason isn't calculated into the equation just the fact that you chose it and from there it makes the big assumptions I am talking about. It does not calculate what your good at and enjoy and if your in a certain occupation or study for awhile maybe you tend to be focused on certain colors who knows? I don't know these tests are just for fun anyway.
38Creator and then persuader....kind of suspicious that a lot of people seem to get this combo...
39hum.. got creator too. seems to be a popular one.
40I got creator/persuader as well. Seems fit to my personality actually. I'm a computer scientist who currently studying graphic design but wants to be a fiction author
.
41creator/persuader
42Sorry, I don't trust these kinds of tests. Like others have said, they're based on popular results during surveys (or at least I think so).
43Mine turned out pretty right on. Interesting....
44This was 100 percent accurate for me. I'm an organizer/doer which is all you need to be when you are an engineer.
45oh this was right on... researcher/organizer!
46My results were quite wrong. Haha!
47My results could not have been more wrong. Maybe because I only picked the colors I liked based on how they looked on the screen.
48I cannot make it work...no matter where or how often I click on one spot or another. What am I supposed to do? or am I not fit for any job?
49Creator/Organizer. That fits my current career and the career I'd like to go into. I'm still incredibly skeptical about how color choices affect your job outlook though.
